  1. I was really shocked when the news broke that Julian left. It made me a little worried about our depth in that position.

However, watching the game versus Chelsea, I'm not that worried anymore. Playing Rico as an advanced inverted full back gave us so much control in the center whilst allowing Haaland to play as an advanced forward.

The only thing was though, I could see defensive problems on the wings. Chelsea lacked in transition and so was unable to exploit those problems.

I think Man City will be fine with no replacement for now, but when injuries hit, it will become a problem.

  2. I know it might BE controversial, and it wont happen as the guy just transferred to Chelsea but João Félix would BE perfect for That role. Very technical, very crative and would thrive as n10 ir false 9. Few players can play between the lines like he does.
But yeah he hás an atittude problem.

  3. For all of those asking about Echeverri, he's not physically strong enough to play as a false 9 right now, and I am not sure he'll ever be. Take it from a River Plate fan. He's 1.71 and built slender. I know Messi and Aguero were short as well, but their legs are tree trunks. Even when they were young, you could tell by their hips. Echeverri is only 18 still, but I don't see him bulking up to play false 9, and, in any case, it won't happen soon. Also, he has the talent, but right now, he is still not good enough for City. He's been starting and playing good games in River Plate, but he's not a beast yet. Might be in the future. Might be a good replacement for Bernardo Silva in a couple of years.

  4. They should either go for a young prospect like Endrick or get an experienced decent Striker close to retirement like a Giroud. Basically they need someone who needs to be content as a back up but possesses enough quality to rotate with Haaland when needed.
