The Chelsea defender Thiago Silva believes the club have been wrong to sack managers this season and said players need to take responsibility.

His words come after Chelsea exited the Champions League following a 4-0 aggregate loss to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals. Silva said: ‘There is always going to be someone upset because not everyone can play. The manager can only pick 11. From 30 something … we need to stop and put a strategy in place otherwise next season we could make the same mistakes’.

  1. He is right. Thiago Silva despite being 38 years old in a team that has spent 600 million and he's been Chelsea's most consistent player this season and the fact that a 38 year old is your best player in a team that has spent millions that tells you what this Chelsea team has been all about this season. Clearly they overspent and your blaming coaches tactics seriously what about your lack of footballing knowledge sacking managers at a wrong time Tuchel didn't deserve to be fired, Graham Potter should've never been hired as Chelsea manager but instead of sacking him without the coach himself being able to implement an identity you should've given him more time the problem is Chelsea have been strict towards managers they go through a poor run of results and they get sacked when Abramovich was there that was the policy regarding managers, Todd Boehly has sacked managers with the same ruthlessness but it's obvious it was a mistake. He spent 600 million on players sacked 2 managers in the same season how does that work. Thiago Silva has a point that the players need to take responsibility and perform you're all expensive and on a lot of money we can't keep blaming the manager owner or the lack of a striker too many excuses I know they've been unlucky with injuries this season but yeah this season is pretty much over for Chelsea and this summer not only an overhaul is needed, Chelsea need to change their transfer policy right now.

  2. This man will go down as a Chelsea legend for me. World class player, strong leader, and ardent supporter of the club. Such a shame that we could not sign him much earlier in his career.

  3. True professional, the only player to show his class and worth the past two seasons. He has been consistent on the pitch. has true leadership qualities. Not a Chelsea fan, but i am a Thiago Silva admire . At 37-38 years old and being the best player out of 39 players.. in a team that's run like a circus.. deserves respect
