  1. If I'm Southgate I'm now gonna play a Man City style of football, I've now got enough players in the squad who are trained to play that type of game – saka, sterling, grealish, white, stones, foden, ramsdale, walker, Philips. You have enough players there who are now naturally inclined to play that type of football. The best teams are not necessarily made up of the best individuals but function efficiently as a whole

  2. Tom, I'm from Dallas; I've watched Jesus Ferreira play in person, and with the right coaching he could be very good. For a guy who is undersized, he's unsurprisingly quick but surprisingly strong against larger centre halves. Moreover, his movement, work rate, defending from the front, and finishing are very good, and his passing is good if not spectacular. He's the type of player Arteta likes, and he'd come at a relatively low price. I'd like to see what Arteta can do with him; all the elements are there.

  3. Ferreira is very much a central forward, can play as a sole striker or second striker, often moves deeper as a second striker or even Cam. My comp would be a lesser Nkunku. Runs hard and relies on work rate. Would be a positive move and might be USMT's long term future number 9 (Along with Balogun).
Big fan of bringing in both the Thurams as well.
Kubo is who I expect to play well and breakout in the WC.

  4. I picked this up from the BBC commentary, just brilliant!!!

"Oh, this just gets better and better!

Raheem Sterling finds Bukayo Saka in the Iran box and he does the rest. He cuts inside, past one man, past two, a dummy and then a rolled in low finish. Took a deflection but who cares.

It was like he was weaving past traffic cones. Two for the Arsenal man."
