A bit frustrating since this clearly messes up our plans with Mané. Won’t get done for the winter but we better get Kaua Prates before Como gets the other guy
Does anyone know much about this Kaua Prates dude we’re on the hunt for? Is he something like Couto, but on the left side, which would bring us another dimension in contrast to the more industrious Svensson?
Also – I don’t see the opposition for the Duranville move, to be honest. There is not much leverage we have to send out a player like him that has been struggling with fitness and some discipline issues, and with how painfully average and flairless most of our attacking players are right now (necessary to mention Silva as the exception to the norm), him having a good showing in Basel could bring him into the fray next season.
To put it simply, it is not worth to bargain over some small sums and lose very valuable time and shorten the already small window of time during which we needed to find Duranville a suitor. We simply had to get him somewhere that could use a player mid-season, and get them to play him. Job accomplished.
Anselmino was such a lovely player to have, it’s a bit sad, but here’s (a bit selfishly malicious, I admit) hoping that things don’t go that smoothly at Chelsea for him and we can snag him back with an actual option to buy in the summer. 😀
