      I was totally off on who our Pen takers would be but also wow, we’ve got some depth there

      4 clean shots and Serhou was yet to take.

      All without who are probably our two top takers in Can and Bense

      Kinda shocked to see no Guirassy taking a penalty. Was the 5th, I presume?

      Was a bit worried about most of our regular Pen Takers already being subbed out or unavailable but somehow also had a calm feeling that they would do it. Definitely wouldnt have wanted a Shootout if you asked me earlier but now that we won it it feels amazing.
      Finally another round in the Pokal and maybe another Home Game for once.

      Frankfurt are pretty good this year, but we should have done a lot better against their defense. I think the starting lineup wasn’t quite right and we lacked in attack AND defense because of it. Jobe isn’t quite there yet; he did okay defensively but too often his passes were easily cutout or too long. Brandt with a bad first half, but as I was criticizing him to a friend he scored of course lol.

      Just glad we were able to get it over the line in the end.

      bad: it’s been a month since last time we played a solid, convincing game

      good: the extra time win followed by a penalty shootout win shows the kind of resilience this team has been missing for some time. Need few games like this to build winning mentality so I hope this will serve us well long term

      Despite a handful of misplaced passes, I think this was Jobe’s best game for us. In the future, he and Nmecha could 100% help us both with defending and ball progression.

      There’s no better feeling than the relief and sheer joy of winning a shootout. While it’s nerve racking and the game wasn’t that great, it’s a win and we move on onto the next round.

      It sucks that we had to go to extra time and got those extra minutes on our tired players. Hopefully Ryerson is alright. Let’s hope the Augsburg that showed up against Leipzig is the one that plays this weekend. Heja BVB

      I think Guirassy needs to be benched for Silva for awhile. He’s just completely out of form right now.

      We were unlucky against Köln but looked completely toothless in front of goal today. Adeyemi, Brandt and Beier all didn’t have a good game but it was an important win. Onto the next.

      Am I the only one who thinks that the football we play isn’t great. Don’t get me wrong, we play good, but it’s not attacking enough. I find myself getting bored, last time I felt like this was during Stöger-ball. We have possession yet we find it very hard to score.

      Last time I felt secure in our defending was 23/24. Feel free to enlighten me

      Shout out Jobe, this was a tough game and he was stellar (with few shaky moments) also played 120 minutes
