  1. Good game. Wish he hadn’t conceded in the last couple minutes. If Frankfurt doesn’t win today it’s realistically in our hands. We just need to win by 3 against Kiel.

    MOTM Kobel

  2. Sure hope that last goal does not bite us in the butt in case of a tie with Frankfurt in the end..

This was karma for games we dominated and lost this season…. I applaud the team’s resilience after beating Leverkusen gave us the first 30mins, a calm and focused performance …Kobel at his best we’ve not seen for a long time, Bense warrior in key moments of the game…a game I will remember for long time

Kobel is clearly the player of the match. Ryerson was also particularly noticeable for me today.

We were asleep at 4-2; Anton only had to hold the defensive line and it would have been offside.

The tactic worked, so let’s give it our all again next week and hope a little for the others.

  5. This and I still get to see the second half of El Clasico where it looks like Real is getting embarassed again lol, perfect Sunday

Glad I watched the game live, was really entertaining. Kobel kept us in the game long enough so we could score goals. The efficiency was crazy!

  7. I just wanna say, what a game. Sule for me was so crucial. Glad to see someone making some deep cutting passes. It really changed the game.

Did not expect to wake up at 630 for a win

Sahin was such a bum this is the best team in Germany and it’s not close

It’s incredible what Kovac has done with this team. Süle with a great performance on a big game, Brandt is back, Adeyemi, Kobel and Ryerson great as well.

Also, fuck Leverkusen for playing their best 11 and trying so hard. Why didn’t they rotate at all?

Can’t believe we pulled that off I thought we were going to get blown out the way the first 30 minutes were going. Like others have said it feels like a nice change when we are the ones winning against the flow of play once in a while.

Kobel MOTM. Also shout out to Bensebaini, Adeyemi, Brandt, and Gross.

  11. Great result which confirms European Football.
Its only about which tier now with Europa League currently looking the most likely with 3 Points above Mainz and 5gd between us.
Going to need some help from elsewhere for CL but just need to focus on our own game and not take the Kiel game for granted.
Also great performance by Süle,Kobel,Ryerson and Bense who did great on nearly every dangerous situation.

  12. ok, just so I get this right:

(assuming we’ll win our last game which is a must in any case:)

If Frankfurt win against St. Pauli then we qualify for the CL as long as Freiburg don’t win against Frankfurt.

If Frankfurt draws then we’ll qualify if either Freiburg doesn’t win *or* if Freiburg wins and we end up having a better GD than Frankfurt.

If Frankfurt lose then we’ll qualify no matter what happens against Freiburg as long as we win against Kiel.

  13. Another certified Kovac in-game management masterclass, that second half was great, the game was over with 15 minutes to go.

Kobel gave him the chance tho, otherwise we’re down 7-2 in the first half.

Kovac’s influence cannot be highlighted enough. He’s done a superb job

Probably one of the most clinical games we have ever had. Rough first half but I think their enthusiasm went down after we took the lead and we were able to secure a much needed win. Amazing run so far and amazing system instilled by Kovac. He has proven so many people wrong including me.

If Frankfurt lose later on, then we can guarantee CL with a win at home. That would be such a special moment and would feel like a trophy

Vizekusen fan: “This was the final home game for a beloved coach, and we lost 2-4 in a game we were dominating!!!”

BVB fan: “Welcome to my world.”

Great performance by Kobel and Bensebaini. Brandt haters btfo.

  17. St Pauli behind within seconds *clench*

These past few games really show how much Brandt’s game is reliant on his mental state. His body language finally looks like he’s enjoying his football again. Just wish it didn’t take this long into the season…

  19. Strange_Quail946 on

Man if only we didn’t waste half of the season on the Sahin experiment…

  20. Now Pauli leads, doing the Lord’s work… Please hold and a win next week means UCL guaranteed

  21. Not in a thousand years did I expect such a turnover in performance when Kovac took over. And I really expected that he’d just be managing us for half a season and then we’d go seriously for ETH or Rangnick. But now I’m grateful for having him as our trainer and I’m convinced that he should continue training us, even though his teams often had a shitty second season in the past.
