Mikel Arteta responds to questions over Kai Havertz potentially being available to face PSG in the Champions League semi-finals.

-TIMESTAMPS-
00:00 – Intro.
00:05 – Reflection after Madrid: Great evening. Got to celebrate after with family.
00:22 – Belief: We can compete in any contest, now it’s about consistency.
00:58 – Review Madrid, then go to Ipswich, how we can hurt them and prepare.
01:17 – Team News: Jorginho and Calafiori not available. I will leave it for the doctors.
01:43 – Options for PSG?: A few options, we’re not going to give anything away.
02:33 – Different a game compared to previous match v Ipswich: For us it’s a big game. We need to start winning games in the premier league. We know how tough it will be. What McKenna has done has been remarkable.
03:13 – Delap: Not talking about individuals. We have to pay a lot of attention.
03:47 – Title being wrap up?: Make sure we win so it doesn’t happen.
04:08 – Rice: Performances like Real Madrid will put him in different dimensions. Now he needs to maintain it.
05:07 – My preference is to have the second leg at home. If any of you watched this week then the second leg is madness.
05:46 – MLS in midfield?: It will be down to availability. Once we’re closer we’ll decide.
06:18 – Not giving anything away to PSG: Making sure the players are comfortable. Priority is to win games in the Premier league.
06:48 – Momentum: The draws have changed things. Credit to Newcastle.
07:12 – Partey contract: All contracts are progressing.
07:46 – Three promoted teams going down: whatever happens, those three teams have created issues but next year will be harder.
08:20 – Pep influence bad?: Nothing I’ve not said before.
08:35 – Jorginho: He’s on the pitch, but we need to make the right steps.
09:07 – Berta impact: I hope he has many more plans and surprises. His experience to help us make the right call.
09:30 – Benefits?: People come with different ideas and methods, this makes us better.
09:51 – Havertz: Semi-finals? I think that’s too close. But if I bet then yes. You can’t hold him much longer.
10:22 – Your profile elevated?: For the club it’s great but we have all big ambitions. The next step is tough.

  1. Five years ago this week, Bukayo Saka tweeted: "You deserve more Arsenal fans 💔"

Five years on and Arsenal are preparing for a Champions League semi final 📈

  2. I know havertz hasn’t lived up to his bundesliga hype but the guy won a ucl scoring in the final😂as a city fan he gave me nightmares because of that

  3. We don’t need him back. It’s going to destroy the team momentum and balance we have picked. When players snd team are in a good moment, do t bring rubbish into it

  4. In these past couple of weeks you’ve made some absolutely brilliant decisions Mikel… please for the love of god do not change a SINGLE thing with this team in Europe!!!

Maybe bring him back into the fold for the last few premier league games and get him ready for another new season as a back up to the new man coming in up front, (UNLESS we actually need him) it would make no sense and would probably be a big or even bigger risk to your job providing we don’t win the thing….

If it’s not broken and all that 🤯
