hear me out on this…i think again this could be madrid panicking about not signing trent yet. Who does this news benefit, makes us look shit and madrid look desirable. Madrid “look trent we’re gonna be signing your mates too, they’ve said they wanna come to us with you so you should make your mind up and sign the deal” This to me says that madrid are having to try and convince Trent more on the sly and get into his head maybe suggesting the deal isn’t as “done” as we all think?

EDIT: If liverpool lost mcallister, it would be a big blow to the squad because, imo he feels like a vice captain if trent leaves.Also , im mcallisters contract is till 2028 so real VARdrid would have to pay a good bit of money
Honestly, Dunk, I'm getting sick and tired of our players being linked to Madrid, I guess I now know how Bournemouth fans must feel, right?!
However, I do think TAA going to Madrid sets a bit of a precedent to maybe suggesting to them (Madrid) that just maybe our players are there to be got albeit in Trent's case – for free! (Which is something Madrid seem to prefer these days)
Nevertheless, I believe Salah & VVD staying should dissuade other players from jumping ship just yet.
As a Liverpool fan, I feel what we do with contract renewals and incomings for next season would be crucial to where we'll be come the end of the 2025/2026 campaign.
We should be looking to renew the contracts of key players if Slot wants them in the squad for "his project." Otherwise, we may end up with more players winding down their contracts in hopes of twerking for Madrid in the not too distant future.
I also feel LFC may need to play mind games with Madrid as well – unsettle them with speculative media reports/narratives about LFC being strong admirers of so-and-so – while this BS may just be that – BS!
I'd still like to see the ripple effects of such narrative/report on their fanbase and media outlets, especially when the latter have to keep responding to annoying questions from other journos about so-and-so being linked to Liverpool.
