Press conference with Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim and defender Diogo Dalot ahead of the Europa League quarter-final first leg match away to Lyon

Ruben Amorim talks about Kobbie Mainoo’s return to the squad, the absence of Matthijs de Ligt and Tom Collier, Mainoo’s versatility and whether he believes he can play as a 6 as he does for England, what improvements he believes the player still has to make, says Andre Onana will start the game and says comments made by the keeper and former player Nemanja Matic won’t have an impact in the game, the change of approach between Real Sociedad in the last round and a more physical Lyon side in this, responds to praise from former teammate Nemanja Matic who reflected on the United coach’s optimistic character, says Onana meant no disrespect towards Lyon and doesn’t believe Matic was aware of exactly what was said, the importance of the Europa League in winning a title and securing European football for next season, how he sees the development of Joshua Zirkzee – saying he is becoming more aggressive but also needs to be more selfish and why he thinks the players seem to be finding matches easier in the Europa League.

  1. Dalot being consistent is spot on, He’s consistently given us 4/10 performances. sometimes he crosses the line and gives us a 5.5/10 performance. Lucky to have him

  2. Man 😆😆😆😁😁 I don't know why but I was in hysterics laughing before even the first questions came! 😆 Ruben is too sharp and honest for those silly little blood sucking piranhas, every single one is simple DEALT with!!! 👀 😁 ,,, I LOVE our manager! Mr MOTIVATOR!!!! I actually physically clapped when I saw him pat dalot on his side as he left, he has the right intensity intelligence and intention for us lot!!! Our guys! he's so personal but with REAL heart!!! No nonsense but still understanding for the chaps! And they really need this firm guidance!!! Also clapped dalot for his intelligent and accurate responses to possibly derisive questions, good lad get them told son!! 😎 And keep your mentality JUST as such!! 😌👏🙏💪 And the rest will simply follow 👍 I will be supporting and living every moment as always! Go well lads LOVE for what you do, work and COMMITMENT will prevail in the end

  3. PSG, Arsenal, Barca killing it in the UCL. Meanwhile at Yanited "Onana is the worst keeper in their history" How the mighty have fallen.

  4. Matic owes onana an apology…. That's just my feeling.
Rubens comments towards the situation is as always top class
Bruno obviously taught doigo his favourite English word…. obviously 😊

  5. The disarming smile that spread over Ruben's face when he said; "Tomorrow he's going to play — Onana", just immediately told you that this wonderful man knew that he had just helped the media open the door for the Matic comment which he already knew was always gonna come anyway. What an intelligent human being 😂😂❤❤❤👏

  6. Good Video👍
I think Dalot stepped up his game because he had healthy competition with Wan Bissaka for the same position 👍. Wish we had more players chomping at the bit to fight for there position other than hoping everyone is fit and having a good sub if a player is having a stinker.

  7. At 2.45. English media at it again hyping Mainoo to stratospheric levels. No wonder England never wins World Cups or Euro Cup, hype players so everything goes to their head.
