If you want a real reason Spurs didn't get 4th place its name is "Hugo Lloris". Remember he gave away a goal vs Liverpool at anfield which made the game 2-2 and that meant Tottenham lost 2 points? Arsenal only had 1 point more than Tottenham. There's your villain.
no, the "real reason" is that tottenham didn't win enough games at the start of the season. But overall they were just unlucky that they couldn't make it to champions league.

Looked like the danger was all but over, but with one swing of Lennon's boot he'd played an inch-perfect clearance right onto Gareth Bale's nose, and the ball just flew into the back of the net. Keeper: no chance! I liked the celebration Bale did as well, that sort of lying-on-his-back-holding-his-face thing. Way better than that stupid loveheart. But yeah, that summed up spurs for me!
