  1. Can anyone tell me if we’ve ever mutually agreed to let a player leave before their contract is up?

Hmmm, I wonder what’s going on here. When KCC first came she didn’t get a lot of game time either, but is now getting regular game time. The fact that Kafaji isn’t even getting on in front of Hurtig does not look good.

  3. No just no. She’s young and frustrated over the lack of minutes so on a level I get it. Kyra made some shady posts last year too. But making posts like this after a loss is too much.

  4. I mean obviously we don’t know everything that goes on behind the scenes (as was evident with Kyra), but I do have some concerns with Arsenal bringing players in and then not using them. Cloe left after a year, have a feeling Rosa may too. Codina barely gets used and USWNT player Nighswonger hasn’t seen the pitch much at all. These players aren’t going to stay if they aren’t getting time and with how they have been playing lately, why not put them in?

Not worth it to all pound on a young player but her publicly sharing this is.. annoying. Shows her age, although I get her frustration. But at the same time, there’s proof in KCC that you get the minutes you deserve once you show up.

  6. This does come across as childish but at the same time I share her frustrations. The amount of young talent we bring in that gets wasted is just disappointing so I do feel for her. Don’t think this is the solution though

Imo there’s a difference between expressing frustration that you’re not playing vs something like this that’s borderline disparaging your own team

It’s childish and shortsighted. I say that as someone younger than her

Making slightly shady posts away from the heat of the moment is one thing & she does have a good case. But not immediately after this loss, quite selfish. Don’t pile hate on a young player though.

  9. Every young player, unless you’re truly truly exceptional, has probably gone through the same thing Rosa has. It must be really frustrating. But at the end of the day it’s up to her whether she learns from it or decides it’s better off trying somewhere else.

We can talk about professionalism and all that, but this brings up Arsenal’s inability to develop young players. You can’t expect to develop talent solely in training; young players need actual game time to improve. Is the starting XI and our whole squad is so strong that strong that you can’t find more minutes for Kafaji?

It’s baffling to me that Arsenal bring in so many players that they end up not using. It really highlights some serious issues with the front office and coaching staff. If you’re consistently bringing in new talent but failing to integrate them into the team.

Definitely an immature thing to post which will not do her any favors at the club if she’s trying to get minutes. But I don’t understand why not loan her if she’s still too unpolished or underdeveloped. She needs game time to improve, and I don’t think just training hours is enough. At the same time, joining a huge club like Arsenal and expecting to get a lot of minutes at 21 is also not realistic. Seems like a bit of mismanagement on both sides here.

she was given chances to play though during the season? she hadnt rly taken those opportunities

  14. Immature or not, I feel for her.

Look at broader picture, we are spotty at best at nurturing youngsters aren’t we? In recent years, the few youngsters that broke through were circumstantial, there was little evidence of clear development path. Frida got in due to Viv injury, both Vic last year & KCC this year got in because of the sharp decline of our experienced duo. If those mentioned stayed injury free, who know.

We got Gio, Ke then Rosa and before that Ruby, Malin ( this I put more on club psychologist) all went nowhere. I don’t see clear path for Rosa unfortunately, at 10 she competes with Frida & Mariona, on the wing it’s Beth, Caitlin & soon probably Chloe.

I don’t like that we half ass our youth development. Either we didn’t go for the best of the best or we were not willing to take risk with the youngsters. Sure don’t start with them but give them minutes,

I hate to compare but these are what I observed weekly

    – City stick with Mary through her dry patches, got Jess Park after good loan spell and now put their trust in Laura Blindkilde Brown & Aoba Fujino.

    – Chelsea is Chelsea but in current team, they are developing Maika Hamano & Aggie well.

    – Even United got a successful loan for Grace & captained Maya at the age of 22.

More extreme case, Barca let Keira go to put their trust in 17 years old Sydney and so far she’s looking like world beater.

Youngsters have to play no matter what and more importantly, they need that clear development path not endless no game time bench & loan before offloading somewhere else.

  15. It is clear Renee does not count on her. There are reasons that we don’t know.
We saw Laura Wienroither was let go so I have no doubt she will go in the Summer.
As we saw recently buying players who don’t fit what the manager wants (Gio, Kúhl) is a waste of time.
