Southgate should go for 3-4-3 against France, He was doing well with that formation in 2018, he had much better players than the last world cup and blew it.
Euro final against Italy proving that England is not geting better, just lucky got a better draw. When was the last time England beat the opponent who ranks above them in a tournament?
Here we go again…. 1. “He failed in 2 consecutive tournaments”. How is making a semifinal and a final a “failure” for a team that had not been to a major final in 50+ years? On the contrary, it makes him the most successful England manager in history. 2. “We should be rolling over these teams”. WHY? Where does this arrogance and false sense of superiority come from? Has England ever “rolled over” any of these teams in major tournaments? Someone needs to remind these chaps that England has the most abject record in major tournaments of any so called big football nation. Poland and Hungary have better winning percentages in WC games than England. There is absolutely no rational basis for these expectations when it comes to England.

Southgate never won anything..as a player OR a manager. Best skill is press and PR. He's not a winner. ZERO game management and the pre penalty shoot out subs were ludicrous
His lack of PL experience costs us due to lack of in game management, changes etc

I'm bitterly disappointed that Southgate hasn't walked or hasn't been sacked. I'd love to see him take a club management job just so people can see how inept he really is. He's going to make Steve Bruce look good at club level unless he bottles it and moves straight into media work. I think that's what he'll do because he KNOWS how out of his depth he is. His stats as Middlesbrough manager were terrible.

I’m sorry but England are just not good enough. The players are good but not thaaaat good, but perhaps with a better coach they can win but this idea that England should be winning tournaments is laughable. Your players are overrated by PL status. Calm down.
Simple for me – the details are simple. England v France 1st half v Argentina v France 1st half. There it is – that's why we'll win nothing with Soutgate. One manager sat back with Henderson as the 3rd centre half passing sideways. By the time we got into it France in the 2nd half were awake. Argentina tore into them from minute one and by the time France woke up they were 0-2 down. That's it. Nothing else is needed

Southgate brings on the same players at the same time in every match..it's obvious he has his favourites…to win trophies you have to be ruthless.
And I dont accept this narrative that we dominated France… Morocco did exactly the same after France went ahead…it's part of how Deschamps sets them up. A top footballing nations success is measured on winning tournaments.

Agree, all getting very predictable. This probably was the best talent in around 20 years, and could have got to the final and maybe with a bit of luck, bit of strategy and bit of gamesmanship, could have won it. Southgate's managerial decisions at big moments in big games always screw it though. That makes England go out more than the opposition does, in my opinion
