Clubs remaining fixture difficulty (based on home/away PPG)

  1. Going to make the leeds crumble even sweeter. Brings back memories of the QPR 4-0 from last season

  2. Nice to be included in the autos group, but it’s going to require a massive collapse from one/two of the other three.

And as frustrating as our drop off is, I would have been thrilled with 4th at the end of last season.

Lmao no such thing as an easy fixture for Boro, our propensity to throw it away is unmatched even by normal championship ‘anyone can beat anyone’ standards

Imagine this can change quite quickly week by week.

I also imagine it’s flawed insofar as it might not account for the added difficulty of your local derby (this Sunday)?

Does it also factor in us v Burnley is at Turf Moor, obviously a benefit to them?

  5. So what you’re telling me is… Plymouth are fucked? And if Leeds don’t go up automatically they’ve utterly bottled it?

  6. I don’t know. I’d feel more comfortable making some assessment from this if I had the x points from their previous fixtures against the same opponents and then combined that with home/away form difference. Just home away form seems reductive.

So, it’s going to be neck and neck between Coventry and West Brom for 5th? Hopefully, Coventry’s form will continue.

Very optimistic to put us in the promotion mix when we thow away winning positions for fun

If these comments have taught me anything, it’s that every team’s fans expect a massive capitulation towards the end of the season. I’ll have you know that that is a Leeds thing only and anyone trying to take the glory away from our bottling will be sorely disappointed.

  10. I mean fair’s fair, the league stacked our start to the season so we played Leeds, Sheffield Utd, Burnley, Sunderland, West Brom and Boro back to back. Oh and Luton, who hadn’t fallen apart just yet. So we got to play all the promotion/playoff hopefuls and all the newly relegated ex-PL teams in the first 8 games. Cheers EFL.

I think after that us having an easier run-in is only fair lol.

Our season ended weeks ago tbf we need to focus on a summer rebuild under Paul Heckingbottom I mean we’ve got the FA quarter final at deepdale against villa but they’ll be to strong for us at this stage of the competition maybe if we’d drawn them earlier who knows but they’ll be at close to full strength I would imagine

Weirdly (and anecdotally) we seem to perform better against better clubs. We beat Boro and Millwall, then drew against 10-man Hull.

Cope? Almost certainly. But there’s a chance.

  13. What this doesn’t show is those “easy” games are at home, so really we’re screwed

  14. I was saying this to my dad last night – our away games are again the top 4 and Blackburn who are in the playoff hunt.

That sort of run would end most teams season.

That said… it would be nice to spoil a few parties along the way.

    Anyone for crumble?

  15. In that case, I’m going to reevaluate my prediction from 4th to… *<scribbles some rough maths>* …4th
