Jeremie Frimpong is targeting more trophies with both club and country following a monumental campaign with Bayer Leverkusen last season.
Frimpong was part of the Leverkusen side that won the club’s first Bundesliga title in style after going the entire campaign unbeaten.
Leverkusen also lifted the DFB-Pokal and got to the final of the UEFA Europa League but missed out on the treble after being stopped by Italian side Atalanta.
“My goal has always been to win as much trophies as I can in my career,” Frimpong told the Associated Press in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.
“Champions League, World Cup. Anywhere (I go)..I want to win the Bundesliga again. Just anywhere I’m at, I just want to win,” Frimpong added.
Xabi Alonso’s side have been drawn to face domestic rival Bayern in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The in-demand Spanish coach has not yet tasted defeat against the Munich club in the six matches he has faced them since taking charge at the BayArena.
Frimpong though is wary that such a streak could end and has warned his team-mates that they will ‘need to be at it,’ ahead of the two-legged affair.
