      Simon thinks Leadership = Winning which is of course nonsense. Societal Metrics of success dont measure good or bad leadership, they measure results. To conflate the two is hogwash and Simon should relax and write a book on leadership if hes enough of an expert to suggest that Southgates book on leadership lacks something because Rashford and Saka missed some pens. Its just bad commentary.

      I think Simon could be talking about Starmer and his cronies, and no I won’t be buying Southgate’s book what could I possibly learn from reading it only how to lose games.

      The less I hear about Southgate the better. For 8 years we have all had to watch England play a turgid brand of football all because of him. He should retire and put his pipe and slippers on. Reaching finals is not an achievement.

      The same Southgate who wrote for the Times in 2010 an article called Not your typical Germans, saying Germany couldnt win anything because they were from different backgrounds/nationalities/races… Hmmmmnn let me see…. I think they won a world Cup?? I Once he said that, I knew we would never win under him. He doesnt belive one ounce of the 'diversity' STUFF HE TRUNDLES OUT.. Hypocrite. GOODBYE AND SHUT THE FUP

      I'm with Simon on that, you can't learn how to lead unless your born with the characteristics, some people lead, some people follow, it's life, and in football, the people that follow will willingly do anything they're told, it's not difficult to lead a football team and completely different to managing a business

      Any man, woman, dog, slightly past ripe apricot, could have done what Southgate did. You could even make a very possible/probable argument they could do better than what Siuthgate did.

      One thing simon is absolutely right on, southgate is no leader.

      England this century has only beaten one team they should not off in major events, thats argentina in 2002 world cup.

      Thats the only time england have won a game that they were not fav for this century, england without mind control techs, would be a very average side

      To have only won one game against a superior team in all this century, shows you how bad england are in reality.

      To win tournaments, you need to beat at least one team that is equal to you or better then you, and england have only did that once this century, ie beating argies in 2002 world cup.

      Southgate did not beat one team that was either equal to england, or better then england in these tournaments, and they got enormous help with absurd draws that meant they did not have to play proper teams at these events.

      When southgate had to play a team that is a proper team, they failed every time under southgate

      Winning in football, means you have to beat at least one team that is either equal to you or better then you.

      Even small teams have won events, look at greece in 2004.

      We all know what football is like, and if you want to win something, you have to beat at least one decent team to do it, and england never did that once under southgate.

      I do not call that good leadership.

      I agree 100% even though the start of it was worded the wrong way and the headline on it was worded the wrong way, you can’t be a winner without winning, yes they may talk about this chances and everything else but even if it’s about a litre, you have to lead them to something and he’s led them to nothing. He’s all almost got there, second place is the same as a participation medal in sport

      I’d trust him to lead a pig to 💩 but that’s about it! He’s no leader, he did what he was told, toed the line and made a good living doing it. A wealthy sheep is still wealthy.
