      Best defender of all time is between VVD and Bobbie Moore, hands down! If you haven’t watched Bobbie Moore then YouTube the legend, he was VVD of the 60s. Ahead of his time. Maldini was ok too, Desailly, John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho etc

      He is the best because he isn't rough and vindictive. Most defenders i have watched just play rough and dangerously. Van dijk is very polished yet very effective as a defender

      Actually I’m so happy that now finally Dutch team members are increasing in the Liverpool squad. I support Holland since Gullit days and Milan and jealous when ManU have some of the best Dutch players playing for them. Hopefully we are reaping the rewards from post Klopp era, YNWA

      Normally very tall defenders have a gangly movement or a slight hunch about them as its natural. Virg is the only defender that completely doesn't have that at all. thats why he is so fast and strong at the same time.

      The best at the moment maybe but certainly not the best center half to play for Liverpool. I don't have to tell you who it is of course because you all know so much about football.

      simply put it, what vidic, john, stam could do, high chance VVD will be able to do, defending back then is not like how intense it is today. switch it around they might not be able to do what VVD does now

      outside of defending, looking at captainship, game control, goal contribution, ball distribution, longetivity, squad influence, fitness, offpitch influence, VVD has more to offer over the 3 and some others mentioned.

      its not to say VVD is outright best in history, but it is not difficult to see he is in many ways on par or better than them and has more to offer

      also, price tag is a rubbish comparison, so please keep that out
