We don’t see Cannavaro, Lucio, Nesta, Stam, Maldini, Terry, Campbell, Ferdinand, Hierro, Puyol, Carvalho, Thuram, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Muller, Desailly, Rafa Marquez…! We don’t see great defenders anymore too. All positions in football have had a massive downgrade. In the middle, we don’t see Riquelme, Rui Costa, Juninho Pernambucano, Aimar, Zidane, Guti, Xavi, Déco, Seedorf, Pirlo, Figo, Veron, Nedved….! Thé players can give all excuses as they like…it’s just a downgrade for us old eyes.

KC is a smart guy. There's lots of people in the comments, who think they know what ruined football. I'll give you some unlikely but possible ideas…
– Defenders aren't better. Teams aren't defending better, as whole teams. The big change, has been high-pressing/gegenpressing techniques entering league games. This has changed dynamics: players are much more tired now. Strikers that press are less effective on the ball, ask anyone.
– academies aren't crushing imagination. They are coddling talent. The price of talent is absurd. So there's more reasonable to make saleable players, and not hurt the high skill prospects

Being skilled is peak football we are not in peak football today don't get it twisted.
Salah is the definition of this. He might not do many step overs or flicks, but he is super effective and efficient.
Smart dribbling has always been so that you create space to get away. Now its just that the European coaches (Like Pep) have killed the game by making it seem like dribbling is a waste of energy. Its never been their style so i understand why they dont understand it.

Hes actually wrong maybe with the defending he has a point but thats because people use computers to pick formations. The reason it seems less is because the players are no wear near as good. Ronaldinho was so he could do that on the pitch but he said it himself not at the highest level but you actually can messi and CRonaldo done it and funny enough both was confident as fuc*. You new footballers definitely dont care more about winnings then the older footballers.
