      Serial looser kept on by England, Southgate record is pathetic & cronyism with some players . We do much better under the likes of Tuchel.

      For me this is scapegoating. We’ve said the same about every single England manager in my lifetime. We habitually overrate our players and our team and when they don’t win against frankly better opposition they jump to blaming the manager.
      Now this is nuanced because Gareth is far from perfect, he made some baffling decisions, but this is an example of confirmation bias. Media and fans have decided we are a top 3 team, we’re not but whatever. Because the team doesn’t get there he’s under heavy scrutiny.
      I am not on the Southgate hype train, but I would like some ideological consistency. He was ripped for picking Maguire, I thought it was a ridiculous selection. He was subsequently one of our best performers in the entire tournament. Where are the people who questioned everything he did going, we were wrong on that one. Because I didn’t see that coming. I was all for Ben white.
      That for me epitomises the problem, we can’t accept we’re overrated and that we reached our ceiling, so now we’re playing Monday morning armchair coach going over everything he did. Well he made some bold decisions that panned out really well that I’m not sure other managers would have made. He stuck with his boys and they by and large performed. We criticise him removing Saka, but in the same breath we need to praise him when he gets it right. Maguire made team of the tournament and people have been quiet about that fact.
      I don’t he’s a great manager, but I also don’t think anyone short of Ferguson is getting us to winning a trophy. I think in 4-6 years we will be rightfully favoured given our strong young core. But in 18 months, there’s no way we’ll beat France. They were better than us without several top players, they won’t have retired by then so imagine that France team with Pogba and Kante in it.
      Now we certainly can upgrade at manager, but it’s getting old hearing Southgate blamed for the public and media’s overinflated view of the team. Henderson doesn’t get into any top 10 team barring ours. Pickford is okay. Reece James is our only consistent elite defender. Our midfield is young and Harry Kane objectively folds under pressure. 3 goals in his last 13 semi/finals matches.

      England field Europa league players and expect to win a tournament filled with actual big players.England is full of Europa league players and famous players from smaller teams,there is no way they can win any major tournament with Southgate’s choice of players.

      Adam is right.. Southgate is out of his depth.. the only backers he has are his mates that he selects everytime and his cronies in the media that he's in bed with. 6 years of dross with the best overall generation. GET SOUTHGATE OUT. It's not southgate being ruthless it's Southgate not having a clue about the modern game

      Southgate football is play it safe making sure you beat teams outside top 15 and then lose close games to actually good opponents who take more risks. Italy, France and Croatia in the last 3 tournaments are the only decent teams England have played and they lost them all. Southgate football is boring, SAFE and lacking that crucial decision making in tough moments.

      What difference will it make changing the manager though? We haven't won anything since 1966 and have been there and done it before. So funny listening to England fans and presenters assuming we HAVE to win when we've had great managers and still haven't won anything. We have had a ruthless manager under Capello and look at the way our stars performed. All acted like premadonas.

      I'm sorry but 6 years in charge and having previously worked with a lot of those players, 5 million salary and you can't learn from your mistakes – get me a similar job 😂

      If, after the Iceland debacle, someone offered to me that England would reach a semifinal, final and QF in the next 3 tournaments – I would have taken it. Probably most people would in that situation.

      If, however, someone offered to me that England would win the next World Cup but be absolutely shambolic for the best part of the following 70 years – I’m not sure I would take that. I’m sure that many will differ in opinion regarding that but it doesn’t seem like a great deal to me.

      English media after world cup final – poor in game management. No ruthlessness

      Me: Southgate is not good enough. England will win nothing with him

      He plays too many defenders, the team was correct apart from there was no quarter back, you can't beat the top teams without a quarter back/locksmith in the middle of the pitch, Henderson was not needed, he should have been dropped for either Foden as a ten or Maddison, like France did with Greizman.
