Sounders are too willing to just fall back into their own defensive 3rd with very late pressure to the ball, and if an opponent can pass around the top of the 18 until someone is open than they are going to score – it's just a matter of time. They also don't adjust tactics for situation – you don't build up from the back on goal kicks or kickoffs if the other team is pressing, when you are winning by 2 goals! Today I mostly agreed with every insight Casey stated on the broadcast, which echoed my comments here but also pointed out that Sounders offense is more often frantic than polished. The times it is polished, it is beautiful soccer and they tend to score. When it is frantic, they lose the ball and the counter attack kills them. Likewise, the defense seems to lose track of opponents and is late to rotate. I'm tired of seeing it. They just lost to two poor squads – better wake up for the CONCACAF final.
