I think people are overthinking this and I'm fed up with hearing about it. Trent could win multiple Trophies this season at Liverpool for the club he's supported his whole life. I can't see him leaving in January when things look so great at Liverpool. If he goes it will be in the summer.

Nobody is talking about the extremely insulting and disrespectful Madrid bid. Instead everyone wants to either blame Trent and the Liverpool fans in the comments. I believe Liverpool can actually go up a level defensively if they get a DM and LB. That will cost money close to 100M so 20M mid season to lose a key player is unacceptable. You would rather keep him to maintain the team as it is then take your loss in the summer with more time to find solutions.

It’s hard for Liverpool fans to accept but they’re not the top tier draw, they think they are. Even at the absolute top of their game, players would rather play for the European Elites. Trent wants to play Real Madrid, it’s nothing personal against Liverpool, he loves the club but he knows if he wants to write his name in football history, he needs to play for a European Elite club, it’s the reason Suarez and Countinho pushed through moves to Barcelona and it’s the Reason Harry Kane went to Bayern.
The sad reality of modern football, no footballer of this generation grew up wanting to play for Liverpool. I’m not saying this to hate on Liverpool, it’s just an inconvenient fact. It’s what happens when you have a 30 year period with only 3-4 good seasons The same will happen with Man United over the next decade, todays kids are tomorrows legend and when todays top players were dreaming of their future, Liverpool were just an “also ran” team.
