West Ham United have began negotiations with French club PSG over the permanent signing of on-loan midfielder, Carlos Soler. The Spaniard is currently on loan at The London Stadium from the French giants and is becoming an important player for Julen Lopetegui and reports suggest Tim Steidten is keen on making his signing permanent in the January transfer window

  1. If Gonzo's earlier video is anything to go by, Steidten won't be buying anyone without the board sanctioning first.
We have good players on board, our problem lies with Lopetegui and Sullivan.

  2. Merry Christmas Geo to you and your family hopefully your wee girl is home now and your having a grand time. I'd rather have Soler than Paqueta mate? Paqueta might be more talented but i like that saying hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard and so far that sums up Soler.

  3. Are we saving any significant loan cost for Soler by buying him now, perhaps something in the contract ? Meanwhile the very best to Gonzo and family , yourself, Mrs Geo and Grace, Happy Xmas, New Year, and many thanks for a great Hammers Chat year.

  4. Thats fantastic news Geo hope you and your family have a magical Christmas. Give yourself some annual leave , will all still be here in the new year, make memories and have a excellent new year.

  5. Totally agree, Geo. Why would you commit 20 million to a player in Jan who is already yours for the rest of the season? That's point 1.

Point 2. He was brought in by a manger who has us currently sitting in 14th, has managed the squad horrendously all season and realistically has no long term future here.

Point 3. 0 goals, zero assists, if I'm not mistaken

Point 4: Ernest Nuamah got quoted at 20 million last summer, and has a much higher ceiling.

No, no, no. We'll talk in the summer, Soler. Right now, you need to focus on keeping the manger who brought you here his job, because in terms of Lop being here a long time; like Castillo says, "It's not looking good BRUV".

No, no, no. Reassess in the summer. 20 million that could be directed elsewhere. CF, left sided box to box, LB/LCB and still have Soler for the rest of the season (minimum).

And if we miss out on him in the summer. Boo hoo. We save 20 million.

  6. I disagree Geo. We have to assume that Soler is party to the discussions on this and has therefore agreed to take a pay cut, as there's no way WH are paying him £200K, if that is indeed, his PSG wage. He is obviously a very good player – he's certainly consistently impressed me – and therefore come the summer, there will be a number of other clubs who would be willing and able to pay £20m plus for him, and perhaps some who would willing to pay more. He'll be 28 in January, so we should get 3 or 4 years out oh him, and he cost PSG £50 two years ago.

  7. Soler has grown on me the past two months, has a touch of Ian Bishop class about him. Maybe Soler needs to grow his hair longer for him to reach his full potential!

  8. Geo I’m not 100% sure but thought I read the premier league 2024 rule change that clubs can only register 2 loans at any one time and not more than 4 in a season..if this is correct then buying Soler would create an open loan slot

  9. Was in complete agreement with your points on Soler but Peter Imray in the comments made another one about potential interest from other clubs in the summer which may mean we want him tied down now. Evidently he's prepared to take a pay-cut.

Best wishes Geo to yourself and the family. Hope the little one improves asap.

My second cousin's daughter had meningitis as a baby and at the age of 4 became the youngest ever member of MENSA with an IQ of 171!

  10. Yeah, strange thing to broadcast. Not sure I believe it. I bet it's part of the pre-assuage the fans when 'we get rid of/he gets suspended' Paqueta never ending fiasco.

  11. I, like you, thought that it was a limit of 2 domestic loans, however it appears that many not be the case. From the 24/25 Premier League Handbook –
    – Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.

    – The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.

Not sure if it changed at some point 🤷‍♂
    Happy Christmas ⚒⚒

  12. Why are we wasting money on him and allowing Lopetegui to buy more players. We should be looking at off loading both of them and letting the new manager in January buy the players he wants

  13. Soler signing is a no brainier for me, the one player we have in the middle of the park that can play an attacking through ball to the forward line, we need a couple of work horses around him in the midfield though.
Sell on Pac, his heads been turned last summer and isn't the same player anymore

  14. Great vid, agree with your thoughts on Soler, not proved his 20 mil price tag yet, but he’s definitely on the way!
Happy Christmas to you and the family Geo! Thanks for all the years content ⚒️

  15. 18 days is so tough mate. So pleased to hear you are set to get home with happy and healthy mum and baby for Christmas. Been through some similar stuff in the past with babies and hospitals, well done to you and the Mrs and baby for getting through what will likely be one of the toughest times of your lives ❤

  16. Have just been at the pub for Xmas Eve. The amount of people that came up to me and said ‘my god West Ham are poor’ is amazing. For that to happen they have at the very least watched MOTD. I know it’s not a full deep dive but rarely do opposition fans say that about another club of the jack of 3 undefeated games. The fact even other clubs fans can see how poor we are is so worrying. Let’s hope it changes soon.
