I was surprised when Celtic bought him. I'd seen him play a fair few times for Yokohama Marinos and whilst he was great at creating assists he didn't seem to be a direct threat up front. He's doing great at Celtic, you've got a bargain but personally if I were looking in the j League for a goal scorer then I'd be hammering at the Kashima Antlers door for Ayase Ueda. Fantastic technique with a cool head. This year's World Cup will be a real test for Germany and Spain when they meet Japan as they've got a ton of midfield talent
