It's almost worse that we made it to the semis this year, because it delays the fan revolt that we're going to need to make real changes. The Galaxy fans showed it how was done. But I was hoping the FO could just make one great signing this year so we could at least kind of relax and enjoy watching the team. Still holding out some hope that this isn't the "big signing". Though listening to the Waibel / Schmetzer presser, it sounds like it might be. Waibel more or less stated that they were only shopping within the MLS.

I'm unsure about Ferreira but your guys' comparison is not convincing. You're comparing sounders spending less vs the deals Timbers makes. So Timbers spending more and performing more poorly. Not the trait to emulate.
Stopped caring when I realized MLS is still a retirement league and top players choose where they want to live not where they want to play.

How do you fix the Waibel problem? Do you boycott? Do you just sound on social media? Do you get ECS involved? Also, id be ironic that the San Jose earthquakes make it to the playoffs but the Sounders wont.
This club is mediocre, has been for years. Happy to trot out mediocre homegrowns and not sign any important players.
Ever since we won the Champions League, this club has made the wrong moves or no moves to at all to improve themselves. When Joao Paulo went down with the season ending injury during the Champions League final, the club did not get anyone to replace him. Which was crazy because we were going to the World Club Cup. 99% of players never have a chance to play in that tourney. We could have gotten a 5 star player for next to nothing to help us out in that tourney. The result was that we missed the playoffs for the 1st time and lost that 1st round game.

Now we are one of two MLS clubs going to the World Club Cup tourney and we should be out there going after 5 star players because we have to play PSG and Atletico Madrid. That is an opportunity for any player to get recognized by the larger clubs.
Do we want to finish last in the group with no points and looking like amateurs? Or a good club that does well against those two clubs?

Playing this tourney is very important for the future of the club. Every young player in the world will be watching to see the Sounders play against PSG and Atl Madrid. First impressions matter in sports.

Also world class sponsors will be watching. Does Emirates airlines and Chevrolet want to put money into a club if the organization is being run by amateurs? Of course not. The club's first real exposure to the world will be at this tourney. Which is why the club needs to open the purse strings and bring in a couple of 5 star players.

Right now, I see the current management guiding this club toward being a typical MLS club. Just like Columbus is. Just like New England is. Just like Colorado is. These three clubs have been with MLS from the beginning and have done nothing.

Miami and LAFC are newer clubs then the Sounders and have been very aggressive in trying to being more than a MLS club. They want to be a club that has world wide recognition. A club that the very best players want to come and play for. The Sounders should be striving for the same.

The Sounders are lucky to have that golden ticket in going to the World Club Cup. I know that Ruidiaz is leaving the club. That opens up one DP position. Rusniak's contract should be redone so he is not a DP player anymore. A DP player should be an impact player… not just a good or decent player. Rusniak is not a impact player.

You do that and then you can sign two very good, DP type players. Then the Sounders might have a chance to do well in the tourney. Beating Botofogo and tying either PSG or Atletico Madrid should give us enough points to move onto the second round. That should be the goal in a tourney with the very best clubs in the world competing against each other.

Remember what it was like when we found out that we signed Clint Dempsey? Remember how good the Sounders were when we had Dempsey and Obafemi Martin leading the attack???? We can get back there if the Sounders management decides that they want to be one of the best clubs in CONCACAF. Which is a team that is always challenging for MLS Cups, winning the Champions and a club that can hold its own in the World Club Cup competition.
I see this totally different guys, Trust me ….. you are wrong on this one.. if he stays healthy, this will be a game changer for Seattle. Jordon Morris should have 5 or 7 more goals with Ferrira
He is kinda similar to Diego Gomez, who just transferred to Brighton in the EPL for 20 million. I have followed both players, and Jesus is much better. He is passing is top notch, his football IQ and vision is next level. This is not a "De la Vega" pick up, he is light years more advance that De la Vega.
In fact, you could make a strong argument Jesus is the best UNMT player currently in North America. What I am trying to say is that, if you are a Sounders fan, you have a real treat coming.

Damn was that super ignorant. Ferreira is a CAM who can also play striker and wide. He had 30 goals and 12 assists in the 22 and 23. 24 was subpar due to injuries. Dude is a DP. Chill.
