only 2 mins in, but want to say that he only got into the 11 because Ampadu and Gruev (we could also be talking about Joe Rothwell) got injured. The way both Tanaka and Rothwell have grabbed their chance by the scruff of the neck is impressive! How tf does Ampadu get his place back…?

He’s so good, can do everything very well. I’d drop Aaronson when ampadu is fully fit and push Rockwell to Cam. Aaronson has had a good season but rothwell is different quality imo

Embodies the leeds mantra of 'side before self' – nobody works harder on the pitch for leeds (?apart from dan james), but he constantly covers for the rest of the team; does not look for glory and is genuinely ecstatic when a team mate scores. As a leeds fan, I do wish he would gave more personal shots to claim more goals as he really deserves more credit for the impact he makes…❤

So glad to see Tanaka get a chance to show his capabilities in a league with a "global profile". Even in Germany he was not able to show what he is capable of.
Ive always been impressed by players who understand positioning, in an instinctive way. I view Tanaka as a lot like Ryan Giggs – everyone could see he was an elite player but only the best coaches and teammates understood WHY he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, and how rare that positioning instinct is.
Tanaka still has room to grow. Im sure he will be a key coontibutor when Leeds return to the Premiership, where they belong.
