Brentford at home are a different beast and Bryan Mbeumo is back amongst the goalscorers after a few baron weeks. The Liverpool postponement meant a formality captain for most, and Palmer didn’t disappoint.

Joined by The Athletic’s Jon Mackenzie, we break it all down.

  1. Jon should be a guest on this podcast maybe once a month? I'm more of a eye test and formation/structure type of FPL manager, so I enjoy his views and input. Been a fan of his since the early TIFO podcast days

  2. Arsenal used the run from the back of the box for a few periods last season. I wonder if they are sticking with it at the minute because the opposition is unsure whether Gabriel is starting so have that doubt in setting up for set pieces.

  3. Newcastle are a bit like Spurs in some ways. Probably do better against teams who look to impose their own style of play, rather than look to nullify them. So Newcastle look great countering with Gordon and Isak, but midfield doesn't create much from open play.

Botman is due to play in a reserve match in the next week. I can't see Howe rushing him into the starting line up, given the length of his injury and the problems he had before it. I wouldn't go for Hall personally, but there is a lack of options at 4.5ish. Maybe wait for Andersen to come back or look at Munoz or Robinson for a bit more.

  4. Love the pod but that was the best question ever ๐Ÿ™‚ 'whats the point of putting players in you team who ok aren't going to play'. Great question. Short answer is……'none'!
