Well in my opinion I think it's a little bit of both. In terms of the strikers we have had since Arteta has been here, all of them are not great headers of the ball and if you look at how we play, we tend to put alot of crosses into the box. So the problem with our strikers is that sometimes they don't make the right run to connect with the crosses and other times when the crosses are made they are no where near them. From Arteta has been here most of our headed goals have come from our defenders and midfielders. And this is where Arteta comes in, he need to use a style of play that gets the best out of his strikers. So instead of high crosses maybe go to low crosses or train the strikers to score headers or get that type of striker that also has other attributes in the January transfer window. Blaming Mikel Arteta for the strikers lack of goals is a bit unfair for me, Gabriel Jesus was always known at city as not being a goal scorer and finishing consistently below his expected goals, Nketiah is a young striker who has never really had a run in the team and when he did last season he scored more goals than any of us thought he would. Lacazette was also never particularly prolific at arsenal and he was also visibly declining by the time Arteta took over. The best argument for why it’s artetas fault is Aubameyang but he also scored consistently in artetas first season but after a change to a more possession based and less counter attacking system as well as his big new contract and aging were the main factors for that in my opinion.
