Look at it from the point of view, "if he leaves Liverpool, where is he gonna go?" most eu teams are broke save PSG & they are a poor team. The BIG Clubs don’t offer any player over 30. More than 1 year contracts at a time. That use to be the model.
But these days. I wouldn’t be surprised but the clubs shouldn’t do it.
Contracts every year keeps the player at that age on there toes and not become complacent or injured over huge periods of time..

As an LFC fan, the club always comes first. No player is bigger than the team, and while stars inevitably reach the end of their careers, new ones emerge. It wasn’t a good look for him to speak out about contract issues. The club should stand firm and not increase his salary, offering a maximum of two years if they genuinely want to retain him.

As a Liverpool fan, I actually appreciate Laurence, not sure why there's so much hate towards him. I think it's completely reasonable to say Arsenal will win the CL, while they don't have the pedigree in Europe usually, on paper right now, as a team, they are probably in top 3 most prepared teams.
I mean, besides Liverpool and that could change, perhaps Madrid when everyone is back and fit, which other team would you favor in 2 legs over Arsenal? Not saying City or Bayern can't beat them, of course they can, but I honestly would give slight edge to Arsenal over 2 legs due to City missing Rodri, De Bruyne and Gundogan's decline, the shaky defence and then Bayern while I do think they have better individual players in a lot of positions, not sure Kompany is a better manager than Arteta and their defence is also shaky.
I don't know, that's just the way I see it. Also Barca in these conversations is fair, but they lack physicality and I think Arsenal will dominate them, because of that and then there's Inter who could be dark horses. We are in for great CL games this season, no doubt. Quite unpredictable, yet Arsenal are definitely one of the big favorites imo.
