  1. Dalot was given a chance last season in the WORST United team in recent history where EVERYONE underperformed bar CR7 & De Gea. Ofcourse he wouldn’t shine or pull trees in such an environment. He’s one of the most technical players in the squad, just needed his confidence back and a competent coach. Don’t forget he was 19 when we signed him, ole wasted 3 years of his career. Now Ten Hag is coaching him, so we get to see his quality.

  2. I say go with what we have and based on this season we move on. We don’t have the luxury of getting another full back probably. But dumfries is interesting and a unrealistic transfer of hakimi would be amazing

  3. Can we please finally talk about de gea having more than 13 years at the club and we still give him chances !!! It's time for a new no 1 if we plan on winning anything . De gea will cry and put the blame on others on shots he should be saving . Like what tf does this Spanish nerd have that we see him as a goalkeeper God he's trash!! Era is finished let's move tf on!!!!

  4. Thanks to Rangnick really, got him pushing more and active again. Don’t forget this is Mourinho’s signing, so even it’s a flop it’s not ETH fault.

  5. i kinda miss AWB. his tackling skills is next level but he cannot attack very well. with a skill like that he could've done better for himself playing as a CB but that's never gonna happen

  6. Disagree. He was never given the chance to string games together and then expected to perform amazingly. For his circumstances the last season or 2, he has played well when given the chance. Def better than AWB.

  7. Have you seen the pathetic ABU bile coming out of ESPN in the last two days? They are ratcheting it up even more than their normal anti-United bias and are obviously coming for Ten Hag using; FdJ reluctance, lack of FdJ plan B, Ronaldo wanting out, one-eyed Ajax recruitment bias, Captaincy decisions, overtraining players, even "whats the all over-reaction with United's pre-season results? They have posted 10 You Tube vids in the last two days either directly about or mentioning United and all but one are negative about us … worried much? 🤣🤣🤣

  8. I may be way off here but why isn’t anybody talking about moving AWB to CB? Surely he has the potential to be a really decent modern CB – he has great recovery pace, a killer tackle and surely at this point he’s more likely to improve in the air with training than improve his attacking vision/execution.

  9. We're all getting big stiff hard ons for the attacking style and how great we look going forward, but so far in pre season we've not been seriously pushed to show defensively what we will need to cope in the Prem.
Great that we've got full backs who can run the wing and throw balls in and play with the forward midfield.
But till they show what they can do when a proper team fights back against us, they're just a fancy luxury.

Talk to me about how great our wingbacks are, when we've needed to play against a team that forces our forwards to track back, because the problem we had last year was that no one forward of McFred was interested in defending the counter. This allowed teams to to either run or pass through us with ease, (and even the Sainted Declan Rice would have been unable to do anything) and be quickly on to our CBs all of whom had sub par seasons.
If our Fullbacks are going to be acting like wingers, then they will have double the responsibility if we still have lazy forwards.

The thing about pressing and winning it back high up the pitch is that sometimes it doesn't work… and THEN the hard work of defending against a break starts. I hope that Ten Hag is going to be drilling into them that just as everyone is responsible for getting the ball from our goal line to the back of their net, so it is everyone's responsibility to stop it going back the other way.

  10. I'd stick with Dalot after the promise he's shown in the last few pre season games. Keep Laird as backup and try recoup some of the transfer fee we paid for AWB. I'd send Williams out on loan again. Also sell Telles. Don't understand him playing CB either, his defensive abilities are poor.

Then you'd be going in to the season with Dalot|Laird and Shaw|Malacia as your full back options and maximising value.

Use any funds generated from AWB and Telles to add to the transfer kitty to help towards a striker. If we can sell Bailly too then even better.

  11. Football is a TEAM game in which success depends very much on whole TEAM effort and on individual player confidence. All players need options and is impossible for any individual to attain their full potential if others in the team are not giving 100% effort, moving, making space and creating those options at all times.
I don't pretend to know the exact reasons, but there has been a very obvious lack of movement in all of our play, and in all areas of the pitch, for far too long now and that, more than anything, is what MUST be addressed.
Progress so far does appear fairly encouraging, and I think/hope that ETH may just be the no-nonsense sort of chap to sort it IF he is given time and the full backing of the club and supporters. Only time will tell on that though as I find it hard to 100% trust that these players are not capable of again "downing tools" the second something happens that they don't like. They have acquired something of a track record for that now after all!
Both overall team performance and the confidence levels of individual players within it will benefit hugely if ETH really is the man to sort it.
I truly hope and pray that he is! 🙏

  12. very simple answer. Martinez! He can play anywhere in DEF and as a CDM. Dalot should be picked. If it goes tits up in him being injured Martinez can always play at RB. AWB needs to move on

  13. Dalot always looked like a player who could improve with some decent coaching. He'll be first choice right back this season and start off next season the same.

  14. 343 fomation dalot as a wingback and AWB as a back 3 defenser along with lisandro & varane. malacia the other wingback.

  15. It's pre season pal, at least wait until he's played a few competitive matches before blowing him. 😂🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  16. Dalot has the potential to be better that Alexander Arnold, He just need good coaching, hopefully Erik would do that perfectly.

  17. Not a big fan of the right backs we have but i don't think it's somewhere where we will invest money in this season so i would go with dalot and brandon as a back up. He should maybe think of using wan bissaka as a back up centre back.
