  1. Emery worked hard to sign him? I've always read that he wanted a right-footed, left-sided attacker, specifically Zaha.

Also, even in a short, it would be good not just to quote the "wronged" party, as simply regurgitating Pepe's opinions probably tells less than half of the story.

  2. Unai emery didn’t want Pepe, he wanted zaha. But the Raúl Sanllehí went over his head and signed Pepe coz he had a relationship with Lille and the club investigated the deal internally after the fact

  3. Pepe exploded at lile because of the counterattacking football, something which arteta didn’t really like as he used slow build up play and Pepe wasn’t suited for this. Hence why being benched for Reiss Nelson and Saka as arteta could mould these young players into his playing style

  4. Utter NONSENSE.. 'Unai Emery, who worked so hard to sign him…'
Go check in any interview, and you can discover that Unai had TWO FULL SEASONS to observe Pepe play in Ligue 1 when he was manager at PSG..
He absolutely did not want him. He could tell, just as anyone else watching, that he was a one-trick-pony.. a quick counter attack running at a single defender 1v1.. and scoring with his left, having come from the right side of the pitch.. That is all he did at Lille.. he was efficient for only one and a half seasons.. Played well to avoid a relegation struggle in his 1st and then scored well in the second to help demolish(one match only)Emery's PSG.. who still won the Ligue 1 and all the other cups.. except for the ever fleeing CL..
So that is why Emery left PSG..(or they only offered him the sack..!)
Emery desperately wanted, as others gave already posted here, Wilfred Zaha, who was already PL tested and an Arsenal fan..!! But Sanllehi the 'pretend' head of football brought about the deal against Emery's wishes.. And there was probably some very shady stuffed going on with kick-backs.. hence the Kroenkes' sacking of Sanllehi..
