She really said she'd take Southgate over Tuchel?!?!? Wow!! It's like having the substitute instead of the actual teacher. Yeah, you might like him more but who are you more likely to learn more from? Who's liable to get the best out of you? I get that the jobs are different but when it comes down to making the right personnel calls, the right formation plans, or in game management, it's Tuchel by a longshot. I continuously hear about a club atmosphere but which club are they emulating? Man City, Liverpool, etc…….those clubs have an atmosphere that resonates from the manager down & that's the expectation of winning. Going to take the game to the opponent and if we lose, trying to win the game then so be it. Southgate seems like he stands for, let's try not to lose & see if we can nick a win.

Japan beat 2 teams that on paper (and FIFA rankings) were much better than them and Morocco beat 3 teams that on paper (and FIFA rankings) were much better than them but England can't raise their game to beat a what should be 50-50 opponent? The quarter final against France was technically 4th vs 5th in FIFA rankings. There is something fundamentally missing tactically and mentally and people like Natalie with their "yeah but this" and "yeah but that" and their desire to heap praise on top of failure rather than call it for what it is, failure, are a massive part of the problem. Defeatist mentality.
A bit pointless to continue talking about other managers after a decision has been made. You can give your opinion on whether the right decision was made, but not much point in carrying on about who would have been a better fit for the job.
