araujo and pena’s situations shouldn’t be compared imo, and it makes no sense not to start one of the best central defenders itw even if your cb pair is cooking when we haven’t even seen araujo in this team yet

There is not question to me about Araujo's importance to the team, when we face players Haaland or even Vini/Mbappé on a good form, few CBs like Araujo can stop them, his speed, reactivity on the dribbles and physicality are such critical points our defense lacks, we're just putting everything on the off-side trap, if we start facing more counter-pressing teams like Sociedad yesterday, we won't do much without a player of Araujo's caliber in the defense.

You left out his renewal as an issue. Araujo has not agreed to renew, and hasn’t even responded to the offer. If he looks like he will run out his contract and leave for free, he will ride the bench.

Sell Christensen, Ferran and play more pablo torre as a 8 to give him more confidence and give pedri some more rest. Get a an amazing one on one creative winger who can create and score like nico or leao. Arajo is great one on one defender will be amazing when we play against a more evolved mbappe and vini. Cubarasi is playing exceptionally well and inigo has been a great mentor to him, he but also needs to take a breather take slow steps to evolve (work on his header game and become a goal threat in set pieces with inigo). Casado and cubarasi have taken up a lot of creative responsibility. We also need to manage injuries better do we need more squad rotation. I think the Sociedad game was crucial for flick to take step back and get creative with the line ups.

Here is the thing, I like Inigo he’s done great filling in but many times this season we’ve been reminded of why we NEED Araujo back, Inigo is 33, not old but not young either, similarly Inigo isn’t fast and at times he gets beat with pace same with Chbarsi Araujo is a physical machine who has that pace and strength we need to allow Cubarsi to push up more if needed and not feel exposed

Injured araujo is still better then Martínez!!!!! And cubarsi still lacks and needs more experience he commits some very imprudente fouls! We need defenders that actually defend balde just isn't very good we can trade for grimaldo or frimpong.. we get scored on every game we need CLEAN SHEETS and either 2 of these balde Martínez or kounde need to be replaced id give cubarsi more opportunities since he's so young, but araujo is better then Martínez way better.. our defense lacks defense lol and is imbalanced due to the players that just don't correlate Martínez doesn't correlate well with balde nore kounde with cubarsi because kounde isn't a natural fullback while like I mentioned cubarsi need more experience and that help from Martínez but then what help does Martínez get if balde just gives up and doesn't follow his runs or tracks back makes the whole defense look bad all,because they don't correlate correctly!!!

All i know is when Araujo returns he'll be the best defender in the world

Idk why theres so much talk about araujo and his approaching integration into this team when in past season hes almost always been our first choice CB, i think he could struggle a bit, but hes been out for a while we can only wait and see how flick works with him

This isn't even a topic or debate to be had. Inigo is doing well atm but he isn't going to be there for very long, meaning his age. Araujo may not come in right away for obvious reasons. No injured player would just walk back into a team immediately unless the coach is desperate. That back lines future is Balde Cubarsi Araujo and Kounde.

Araujo will fit in perfectly and he will be a starter by the beginning of the year and thrive.
It’s clear that we lack that center back with Araujo’s profile. We lack a bit of speed and physicality in the back line. Now what’s interesting is to see how it’s going to play out between Iñigo and Cubarsí. But as far as Araujo, he’s good for sure.

We need Araujo. I dont believe that Inigo and Pau will be able to keep the focus and fitness for the entire season. We need depth that can compete for starting spot
