Shouldn't you get the watch after you win? That's peculiar. As for Conte, it doesn't surprise me to hear that his man-management skills are nonexistent. I think there's a place for discipline and even berating players but that can't be your go-to method of getting the best out of the team. I'm sure Jose Mourinho is the same way. That's why they start off great and then it goes south when the players just get fed up with it.
