Virgil van Dijk said he is in “discussions with the right people” over his Liverpool future as the club captain moves into the final months of his contract.
Van Dijk is one of a number of high-profile Reds players whose deals expire next summer, with uncertainty also surrounding the futures of Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
As it stands, the trio will be able to discuss pre-contract terms with overseas clubs from January, but Van Dijk said he is in talks over extending his stay at Anfield.

Funny as it sounds, he's got very few options and the same can be said for most top, top players. There is literally one better club in terms of winning things in England, which is Man City, and would he go there, unlikely. Real Madrid is another option, which is the most likely, were he to leave LFC, but it's not 100% they would want him at any cost. Barcelona are not in a great position right now, so that's a doubtful one, and after that, he's looking at inferior leagues and clubs. Tell me I'm wrong!

In the past I used to say this guy is overrated by the teenage fanboys. But now I have to admit that he’s easily one of the best centre backs in the whole Liverpool squad for this current season. And is still massively overrated.
