Well i heard in the beginning of the year that Gallagher didnt want to sign a long term contract due to his age. This was a shorter contract and he didnt want that either. To be real he showed for 7 months last season as well as for England that he doesnt have the skill to play for a top team. I feel that the academy is being used correctly and only a few of the very best will make it at Chelsea. PS cardio is not a skill.
Genuinely a subpar footballer. He just runs which was okay in a Pochettino system but he would be terrible under a Maresca system just as he was under Tuchel. The moment we accept footballers like Gallagher starting on our team is the moment we accept that we are a mid table club.
Regarding academy graduates, keep the best and sell the rest. Football is a cut throat business and we can’t afford to carry unsuitable players in the squad. Short term contracts are an indication that one is not valued at the club. Time to move on!
how do You blame the ownership cause Gallagher reject Chelsea . Just Like Mount he Not Proper Chels 🤣😂🤣😭😭
. As a player coming up in the academy, I can see how you can get attached to the club, but at the end of the day you have to get the best value for yourself its business .
Daniel,
I understand from previous videos and comments that you value local fan opinion vs international. I get the idea that a match going fan from the area should have more cache when their opinion is concerned over others. I only bring this up because I believe it is causing you difficulties with seeing other perspectives.
This is no longer a quaint or boutique league. This is a global game, league and Chelsea has people from around the world who have supported the club for decades. Your ability to grow your platform, along with others in similar lanes is all based on the team being valued by more than just a portion of people living in London.
I have criticized the ownership for certain decisions. I don’t think they should have allowed Poch to leave. I think they could have transformed the club at a slower clip. But, you continue to state it’s a fact that the owners and directors don’t want to take any blame, what does that mean? What does accountability look like to you? Very youthful if not immature ideas from you in my opinion.
Are you able to see an argument where Conor and Trevoh have already been replaced by better players in Lavia and Fofana? You say it like it’s a fact that Conor and Trevoh are clearly better than those players. Don’t think that is clear at all.
They did a very aggressive rebuild. Under the new ownership the team went from 12th to 6th last season. What if they continue in that trajectory and finish top 4 this season?
Frankly, if that occurs a lot of you are going to look a bit silly. It’s this new age where people like to say, “I’m just speaking my truth or giving my opinion.” But if your truth or opinion is wildly inaccurate and doesn’t leave room that ideas other than your own may work, then your input no longer adds any value and you aren’t worth watching. I watch content creators such as yourself because I don’t have many Chelsea fans where I live, so I like to stay connected to other fans. But it’s almost intolerable at times.
If the team regresses this season, let’s then start complaining like you are now. The loss of Trevoh and Conor certainly doesn’t make us worse off than last year with players like Nkunku, Lavia and Fofana back from injury.
You are always fair, reasoned and considered with all of your views and opinions. CANNOT FAULT YOUR STEADFAST REASONING
About tine BOEHLY EGHBALI FELICIANO ….CLEARLAKE CAPITAL. SHOWED SOME RESPECT. ON ALL LEVELS
Come on dont think that Gallagher is a top 4 team player, as for contract would he sign say 5 plus 1 year contract on say 150 to 180,000 no he wants more money than he is worth, look at some of the players here and coming. Happy for him to stay also happy for him to go
Gallagher is not that good of a player. I know people will say we have worse players in the team but i think if we're ever going to be a serious team again we have to he ruthless. Imagine City keeping a player because he covers so much ground. If he did it like Kante i would understand
Srsly what do we expect from the club/owners/directors? They accounced quiet early they consider EVERY player with a contract of 2yrs or less is for sale. Gallagher falls under that "rule". Last summer almost every bigger chelsea VTer wanted Conor sold. "He is not good enough". "He doesnt fit the Poch System". "We can use his pure profit for signing better players". And now after he had a decent season in a chaotic system with no clear tactics people cry about "how bad we treat Conor"? Do you remember how bad we treated players under Roman? Or the 39 player loan army back then?
Everyone is entitled to his opinion. Everyone can rate him the way he likes. To me he is an average player with a limited skillset. He wont be a starter be any means when everyone is fit. And giving him a 5+ year deal on +150k/week is just too much. He would be a benchplayer after all. KDH is on ~60k/week. Can play the same positions. Offers more going forward.
Surely the same wages as CAICEDO the biggest transfer fee in history isn’t disrespectful… no?
No room for Gallagher
Clubs are incentivised to sell academy players due to the profits involved, until that changes we will always see this. And just because the club are briefing that he’s rejected contracts, that doesn’t mean he didn’t reject them?
We gave him a banner when he didn’t deserve it. We had an awful manager whose system benefitted the fittest runners.
Gallagher certainly isn’t a traitor and I wish him all the best, but he, mount, and trev are not good enough for us to get back to the top. Mount left and barely plays, we will see the same with Connor
Probably helps to concentrate on facts and not on ludicrous flights of fancy. This whole episode is based around an imaginary conspiracy theory that Chelsea officials are trying to blame Conor Gallagher for the current situation, which then feeds into speculative nonsense about not wanting to win and disbanding the academy!!!! Some fans are going off their heads at the prospect of Gallagher being sold, in those circumstances it is perfectly reasonable for the club to provide the facts – that Gallagher has turned down contract offers from the club. Despite the accusation from SOC, the club has not claimed to have tried everything to keep Gallagher, they have, as quoted in an in-depth piece in the Athletic, tried to find a middle ground between Gallagher leaving or having to offer him a long-term deal. That middle ground position is sign for two more years and work your way into the new manager's first team ( Conor's rudimentary technique makes him a poor fit, let's be honest). Now, if you are marketing yourself as 'Mr Chelsea' you then have 3 more years at the Bridge (with a decent pay rise thrown in) which is the stuff of dreams Chelsea fans. But hold on, Conor wants to be Mr Chelsea on his terms, namely a six year contract, which he would see as a sign of faith. The sticking point here is that the sporting directors have just sacked a manager because they want to embed a possession-based culture at the club, so why on earth would they give a six-year deal to a player they deem incompatible with that style? What they can't allow to happen id for Conor to sign a pre-contract deal with Villa, Spurs or Ath ,Madrid and leave for free at the end of the season. They have rightly told him straight, either sign, leave or spend the season training with the academy players.
Dumb Chelsea, buy players then cancel them. What a club 😂😂😂
