  1. Too narrow definitely, but also took way too many touches and the passing was very slow.

    The Everton defence barely had to move for most of the game.

  2. Mead was definitely drifting inside today more than she has recently. When the right winger holds the width and interchanges with Fox, it’s a lot more dynamic and successful. On the left, Katie, Mariona, and Frida seemed to be less in sync today, as well. Not enough beautiful triangles 🙂

    This diagram looks to me (admittedly, a layperson and non-expert) like perhaps too many players were trying to get on the ball rather than move to spaces to receive a good ball. If that makes sense…

  3. I think, today can be summed up by brain freeze, lack of initiative. It is like players are still restricted in their mind in what they can do.

    If we compare to last season, there is much more dezoning, hence players in the same average position rather than stuck to their role like last season.

    No line breaking pass in the central area. Why no Kafaji or Kühl who will provide those options.
