Anyone reducing Messi down to statistics (no matter how good they are), need shoeing. By 23 Messi had just scored 50 goals in a single season for Barcelona, Mbappe's got a better overrall goal record at the same age, but absolutely no one in their right mind would say Mbappe was a better player than Messi at the same stage. Look at Messi's performances between 2010 and 2011 – he was on two Ballon d'Ors in a far more competitive era and people were already saying he's better than Maradona.
Imagine Mbappe having a current Argentina squad and do u still think he can carry the whole team up to the final like the way Messi did??? I really doubt about it.

If Mbappe ends his career with more goals than Messi and Ronaldothat wouldn’t suprise me same with Haaland but that’s because Messi and Ronaldo didn’t become natural goal scorers ‘till 4/5 years into their careers. Mbappe and Haaland have always been goal scorers so really they just have to maintain their standards to have a chance maybe with 2 or 3 freak seasons individually. But 91 goals in a calendar year won’t be touched to be honest
