Interesting article in the Evening Standard with some illuminating statistics.
I thought I was in the minority of people who have no affiliation with the men's team (not because I didn't like men's football in my case, I already support a men's team and that isn't going to change).
But post-Euro 2021/22 I wanted to attend women's games with my daughter and I let her pick the team. Plan was to do a home game of all the London teams but we got as far as Arsenal and stuck with them. So far this year I have seen the women four times and my men's team once.
But 61% seems a bit high for being Arsenal Women fans only. Wondered how many other people on this board don't care a jot for the men's team?

Very interesting I think not only that but the women’s game are so much cheaper to bring a family too!
Regular attendee at men’s game but a lot of the people I go to games with who have kids take them to women’s games due to accessibility of tickets and cost!
Especially good with the younger kids to ease them into football.
My girlfriend and I got into women’s football last season (ok, I might have given her a helping hand) and we both have slightly different views on the men’s game. She’s not at all bothered by men’s football and just doesn’t care for it. I’ll watch it when it’s on and am glad when the Arsenal men are doing well, but I probably wouldn’t ever go to one of their games. But going to WSL games has been great because it’s a hobby we both like, it gets us out of the house, and the train journey usually ends up costing more than the tickets so it’s defo not an expensive day out. Plus, for the most part, the WoSo community has been great to be a part of. But had told either of us a few years ago that we’d be this invested in football, we’d have laughed because we didn’t care about it – I generally wasn’t aware of the women’s side of the game and hadn’t really known where/how to get into it.
I’ve always supported The Arsenal, and all variations of the teams, be it Men’s, Women’s, U21s, but ever since the women have started playing at the Emirates, my love for Arsenal has a whole has grown. Got to go Meadow Park for the first time ever to watch us qualify for UWCL, bought my club level season ticket for this season, and trying to do an away game for the UWCL. Even went to an away game for the WSL last season. Things I’d never consider doing for the Men’s game.
1. I think women’s football is more welcoming.
2. It’s more accessible price wise.
I suppose I’m one sort of one of these people. Cheap tickets plus friendly atmosphere just makes it more accessible to me. 30 quid for 2 tickets to see England. 30 quid for 3 tickets to see the league cup final. And having the games shown on the BBC iplayer is a great thing. And it helps the players are a lot more relatable as well. It’s hard to care about the millionaire kids in the men’s game.
