a boxer loses every round, gets knocked down 4 times and is ko'd in the 5th round. How does he justify askign for a rematch – it was as one sided a beat down as boxing gets.
Rematches should be made if a decision is very close or a fight has to end due to an early injurying: that's it. But now we have rematche excuses sewn into contracts by promoters.
I get why: money. but Joshua was beaten by the better man, and beaten easily. If it happens again he coul dget seriously hurt. He has not got a chin for world level.
He gets a rematch because DD wants to get paid. Fury/usyk/AJ will all be gone within 2 years. Where do the pay days come then ? DD cant fill wembley.
It definitely warrants a rematch. AJ has earnt the right (and has the contractural right) to have one. The recency bias in boxing is unbelievable. Smith v Eubank no one thought warranted a rematch and the second one went right the other way. This could very well do the same.
They said same when joshua lost to ruiz.
Rematch will happen simple…it makes the most money.

Dubois can beat up AJ again in February for another nice pay cheque and easy work and then fight Usyk for undisputed. That leaves Fury and AJ to settle things next summer in Wembley 👌
Yeah AJ needs to get him beat by going in the ring with his hands up and his chin down. Maybe he would rather be seen as someone whos rigged another fight.
I don’t get why people are acting surprised and outraged about a potential rematch, AJ looks to be past his best but obviously commercially he’s still a good draw and they’re probably hoping he, at least, gives a good account of himself in a rematch to pave the way to a potential fury fight, which although now would obviously not be as lucrative as it once was, will still be a big draw, especially with casual fans.
Im not saying it’s right but if your looking for fairness, equal opportunity and chances based purely on merit then go watch Tennis
Unless Joshua was.ill or something based on the performance against Dubois, he should retire. He has enough money for several lifetimes but yiu only have one brain. Once its gone its gone.

Only way trilogy with Usyk should happen is if Usky loses to Fury and then Dubois too.

Mark my words, i wouldn't ve surprised if a rematch doesn't happen for another 1-2 years, a rematch isn't warranted for now. It was too one sided, the hype is gone, the dust is settled, lets move on to bigger things like the winner of fury vs usyk gets duboi. Aj on the other hand, needs to climb the gauntlet again, i doubt tyson fury would want to go vs aj considering the aura on invincibility of aj is gone. I see duboi vs usyk a likelihood of a scenario

It's embarrassing still hearing all these excuses for AJ, just say it as it is, Daniel won because he is better than AJ, it wasn't even close, Daniel dominated AJ from the start, all these pundits making excuses for AJ because they are embarrassed they got it soo wrong.
AJ is nervous when he's in with a young fighter coming to win. It's not a bug it's a feature. No shame in it, AJ was focused on the night and had some moments. But can we come off the "AJ wasn't right on the night" stuff. AJ just knows when he's in a difficult fight and he walks in differently than he does when he knows he's got all the advantages. He's a normal person in other words. It's very casual to try to explain every loss by assuming AJ could do differently if he just believed in himself more. Dude believes in himself. He also gets stunned and doesn't recover when he gets clipped. It is what it is. He could fight Dubois again and get KOd again almost certainly, and then fight Fury again because it's something they can sell to the UK. It's easy to build into a bigger fight than the DDD financially. It's not as meaningful a fight but it's something the masses will pay to watch once for time's sake.
But fury and wilder 3 was warranted after wilder got knocked out in the second fight. The hate for AJ is just too much. Do they hate him as a person or the money he has made in the sport
