On Episode 524 of Spittin’ Chiclets, the guys are joined by Utah’s Enforcer Liam “Big Tuna” O’Brien to discuss the inaugural upcoming season for the Hockey Club, how he made a name for himself in development camp, and playing under Ovechkins wing. But first, the boys are coming off an unreal Chiclets Cup in London, Ontario and even though the Big Deal Selects fell short of a championship yet again, there was still plenty of drama that ensued over the past week as Bruins GM Don Sweeney had some choice words for the Spittin’ up on yourself podcast. The Central Division preview has a lot in store as John-Michael Liles, Colby Armstrong, Billy Guerin, Barstool’s Big Cat, and Doug Armstrong join to talk all things hockey as we are just under two weeks away from opening night. A star studded cast and lots to talk about, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.

  1. Liam deserves everything and more I watched him many years in Hershey and was always me and my kids favorite. When he was on the ice everyone knew it. Miss the fights with him and Sestito ever match up with baby fans!!! I hated to see him go but I knew he was never going to anywhere in the caps organization. Hershey will always root for you!!!

  2. Always baffles me that so many high end skilled veterans can’t even get a league minimum contract. So many times a team finally picks them up and they end up performing well. Maybe it’s a role problem? Like they can’t play on 3rd and 4th lines so they have to be better than a teams current top 6? You’d think especially a bottom feeder would love to have a Paccioretty, Barrie, Hoffman, etc. It’s zero risk, all reward right?

Why can’t those guys play on 3rd and 4th lines? All that experience and value in leadership for young players. Find it hard to believe the Blue Jackets, Ducks, Sharks or Blackhawks 3rd and 4th line, 3rd pair D players are all better than those guys. Can’t just rebuild with kids having no leadership and veterans around them.

*Chicago an exception bringing in Foligno for Bedard. A perfect example. Kid is learning how to be a pro and play the right way.

  3. The fact that there are people who get mad about other people donating to a charity is absolutely insane….
Keep up the good work, loved the POD, listened over two days while working, I don't mind the longer ones, Interviews were great, didn't realize spicy tuna was a East Coaster, I should have known when I saw his Utah speech. Looking forward to Yans carving up the Selects and hope RA is making out OK, and he can come back 100%. Cheers !

  4. I played against Dylan Samberg in high school and omg was he good. By far the best HS hockey player I ever saw hands down. Nobody was doubting he'd make the show and he looks like he'll have a good career as an NHLer, go Jets!

  5. Not a big Avs fan, but Rantanen has to be one of the most underrated/undermentioned players in the league when talking about the big household names around the league.

  6. As a jets fan I agree with Whitney
Jets are going to be a wildcard or just miss playoffs.

    Lines will be
    Connor Scheifele Villardi
    Ehlers Lambert Perfetti
    Nino Lowry Appleton
    Chibrikov Namestnikov Iafallo
    Extra Barron,Gus

    Morrissey Demelo
    Samberg Pionk
    Miller Stanley
    Fluery Coghlan
    Salmonsson Heinola
Hellebuyck the backup losing Brossoit will hurt Kahkonen,Comrie,Milic.

Heinola got hurt again I don't think he will pane out. They need Yager,Lambert,Chibrikov,Lucius,Salmonsson,Milic,Barlow,Freijs to mix with the old core next 2yrs.
It be nice if they could get a solid top 4 when Pionk leaves.

    1.Colorado
    2.Dallas
    3. Nashville
    4. Utah,Jets,Blues,Blackhawks,Minnesota will be fighting wildcard.

  7. It's nice as a Canadian to hear them shout out the Terry Fox foundation. Sucked hearing it described like it was something new though. I'm 30 years old and we always did Terry Fox runs and fund raising for as long as I was in school. This has been around in Canada for decades, but genuinely thanks for shouting it out boys. It's a real good cause.
