Liverpool have confirmed they will sign winger Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg when the transfer window opens on 1 January. ESPN FC’s Alejandro Moreno believes Jurgen Klopp has picked up an “absolute bargain” but thinks he also needs to bolster their defence too in case Virgil van Dijk gets injured again.

my wife is japanese and we have waited years for the reds to buy a japanese player,
japanese fans love their merchandise, so not only have we signed a brilliant player,
he will also be a mega money magnet, an amazing deal all round.
7.5m for a proven 24 year old attacker (yes, proven in Austria, but that's not stopping Haland from getting insane praise either..), not to mention from a business PoV this brings the Japanese and Asian markets to Liverpool as another source of revenue. This seems like a 100% win.
