      The French defence looked vulnerable over but only saka looked like he could open them up and they were committing so many fouls because they couldn't handle it they were so happy when saka came off Harry kane went into airplane mode again Simon is right every time we have a team our equal or better on the ropes we let them breathe instead of putting them to the sword

      Keown''s feelings got hurt that he got really petty and defensive.Bringing on guys who used to play with or a peer to discuss is rarely any good.They'll defend the player no matter what.But when asked would you want Southgate for your team he couldn't say yes.Double standard in effect.

      The facts are that England are not good enough, yet, they generally lose against top teams. The manager is important, but Southgate IS the most successful England manager since 1966, bar none. Folk need to accept and understand these things. English folk need to reduce the arrogance surrounding the expectation of winning international tournaments, and the ignorance to think they should beat teams like world champions France automatically. Are there better managers that could manage England? Undoubtedly.

      We had three opportunities and we failed on all three. 2018 great pathway to the final, 2020 basically a home tournament and still lost. 2022 beat the teams we know we can beat and come up against France which are not the team they could off been with star players out. Absolutely glorified failure.

      Southgate should never have been the England manager. He's just an FA yes man. At his best in the premier league he got Middlesbrough relegated! He's won nothing.
      Why do we celebrate mediocrity?

      Please remember France was missing: Pogba, Benzema, Kante! These players would have made it a different game. Stop saying England played well. The 2022 ballon d'or winner wasn't on the pitch 🙄

      As the England squad is made up purely of English players born and bred how come they can have a Foreign manager/coach are we English through and through or not?

      Southgate doesn't need to go, we tried, Kane failed, Keown sounds like a salty fa man, if Gareth fails at the Euro's, he's done, you can't give him 30 years to win a trophy, the women who were outstanding winners have put pressure on Gareth to win something, this isn't club football, you can't miss the opportunities you get, and England have fluffed too many at critical times.

      If Martin sees no problem in Southgate subbing Saka for Sterling who had been through trauma at home before Rashford, in putting Jack Grealish on with a minute left, then he is showing his lack of football senses.

      England reached Peak Southgate. Dont risk it England. In 2 years time the same thing will happen. Just avoid the inevitable "We should have changed 2 years ago"

      Achievement? Southgate has not won anything at all, where is the achievement in that? Half the England squad don't even like England and it's ppl, while the rest of our football rivals would die for their country and history! That's the big ass elephant in the room.

      On paper we should beat the French who were missing their 1st choice centre back pairing, their 1st choice midfield, their 1st choice striker, and Nkunku instead of the disappointing Dembele. England not beating that team with their preferred line up is a shame and an opportunity lost. Any excuses justifies our competence level

      Listen Mcguire let Giroud get goal side of him twice pickford recused him on 1 occasion he then switched off thats why He cant get into the United team. Why pick Maddison if your not gonna give him 1 minute. We have SO MANY talented better players that southgate doesnt like who he will never choose Grealish is shocking sterling aweful Rice Appauling phillips would have played better vs France hes more mobile and gets stuck in. I could go on forever but what southgate doesnt get is that Mcguire was a good player 6 years ago hes not now hes been a good servant for england but we should have beaten france it doesnt help when your taking the knee in everygame essentially pissing in the faces of the locals hence why i beleive we got sweet fa var decisions as england should have had 4 penalties – the only positives i take from this WC is Rashford & Bellingham were a breath of fresh air. Less taking the knee for gay rights in a country where its illegal more winning matches

      We saw in the semi final how France play. Soak up the pressure and hit back with quality moments. No doubt they will beat Argentina doing the same thing. It seems to be forgotten France scored twice and England were at no stage ahead in the match. I really wonder how SJ can say he doesnt think France are a great side. Current holders of the WC, Nations league champions and in the final of this WC.

      Martin …Your agreeing with Tony Adams , Gareth is not an elite manager , wasn't an elite player and not an elite creative manager …You just pointed out what he should have seen Re Griezeman ….And plain and simply he didn't

      I get what Martin is saying but this England squad is top drawer and I believe if they push the boat out and get in a top manager who knows what it takes to win major trophies England really could win tournaments..and that’s another Scot saying this,,I really do believe yous could have won in Qatar but that’s football

      Southgate, an average manager by international standards, managed to achieve nothing at the helm while managing a crop of really good players. We progressed, we have a vision under his stewardship blah, blah. But the trophy shelves are empty.
