  1. Funnily Foord probably wouldn’t have started if Mead was fit. Three starters on the wings now, while only 2 can start.

Right, if we can just do that another 40 or so times we’ll have the quadruple in the bag

  3. Thats a perfect start! What a performance from foord considering she started rw, caldentey was incredible, i like what we saw from kafaji, russo did what she does, maanum was looking sharp imo, thought codina did well. Overall i really liked what i saw

  4. “The pressure is on Arsenal, they were the ones that were knocked out at this stage”. 6 – 0 without a single shot at goal or on target. Good way of shutting people up.

YEAAAAAAA COYG!! Most confidence and best interplay I’ve seen from them in a long while. Obviously have to consider level of competition but it’s clear the quality of Caldentey and Kafaji already have boosted the team

So who we’ll face in the final qualifying match when we beat rosengard this Saturday, what type of team we’ll face, easy or tough like Paris FC?

  7. That was extremely enjoyable! I felt the pace of the game was better than what we’d seen in preseason matchups (which were less fluid, naturally) — patient, but played the ball forward with intent when there was some space. Nice switches across the pitch at times.

Really nice to see how the team is developing. You can almost see the layers building throughout last season, adding new/key players in the summer, and improvements over the last 3 weeks. It’s early, but the process seems to be moving along well. Excited for the season!

  8. Happy to see Foord have a stellar performance to kick off this season, especially after last season’s struggles.

Overall, I loved the team’s patience throughout the game. They were steady and kept the blunders to a minimum. I know it wasn’t the toughest opponent, but I appreciate that we did not underestimate them or play down to their level. Let’s do it again on Saturday. COYG!

I like Kafaji as much as the next person here, but I don’t think she was involved that much compared to other stand out performances (so close to her first goal with that shot at the end tho). She was also only on the pitch for 20 minutes, so yeah… Hope she gets more time next game. Maanum started strong but in the second half there were a few moments when she couldn’t make it to her player and it turned into this half running again.

Very happy for Foord and my only complaint about today would be that Kim had to play 90 minutes. Like come on, take her off. The game was basically over after the quick 3:0, give Ke time in midfield and not on the wing. Especially with Wally on and the very few attacks they had, today was a time where we could get away with Ke in the 8.

This team is very very strong. There are a couple of question marks I still have, especially the form and availability of Mead after her ACL and I wanted us to scoure the earth for a world class cb next to Leah, but other than that, we look poised to really push for the title this season.

I love the additions of Mariona and Kafaji. Adding that creative spark we’ve missed since Viv got injured, will help us so much against low blocks. Mariona has already become the creative heart of the team and she injects tempo and movement that influences the rest of the team. We look a lot more fluid with her in the side already.

Great game and WotM goes to Foord. She needed that and she’ll benefit from Mariona and Kafaji next season. Her finishes tonight were incredible, but her focus to be on the end of those chances was really encouraging.

Now it’s about finishing the job on Saturday. Come on you Gunners!!!

  11. Can’t believe I missed our once per season hammering for class 🤕 knew I should’ve skipped this morning

BBC report has us playing Atletico on Saturday. Does no-one proofread,  basic errors are frequent

so, so happy with our performance today – play feels a lot more fluid than last season, and while there are still some bits to iron out before the wsl season, i think we’re off to a really good start 🫡
