There are two major differences between international football tournaments and EPL football. At the international level, only a few teams play with a high line: Germany and maybe Spain. After that, most other teams sit back and counter, including England. That means Maguire is rarely exposed to pace. But more importantly, the fact of the matter is that England are superior to most teams they play at the international level. I'd say at least 15 teams in the EPL have a better attack than Wales, the U.S., Iran, and Senegal.

Maguire would do good in Serie A. Look at Chris Smalling average at Man U one of the best in Serie A.
I'd let him go for 10p and a meal at Greggs. He can't play high line football and has the positional awareness of a lemming. It works with England, because they sit so deep and he doesn't have to worry about runners in behind off the ball. The goal England conceded against Iran is exactly why he can't play for Man Utd. He never checks his blind spots so he always has to react after something happens. Worked out alright first season under Ole, because United were so heavily a counter attacking team. You could replace him with a beach ball on a stick and not notice the difference.
As a united fan I would let him go as for what ever reason he can't perform to the level we know he can on a consistent basis at United. I have no ill feeling towards him and I i was him I'd be trying to get a move to juve or Milan as I think he would be a world beater in Italy.
Even with so called great World Cup he was to blame for two goals. Against France and Iran

Maguire is not quick enough for Man Utd, he could go to Coventry City.
He has to leave, not because he is a bad player or whatever, but for fans point of view, he messed it big way last season so the tag of not up to task on him will instantly return to him for even minute mistakes. Secondly he is not a captain material, right from the tunnel he shows uneasiness and already defeated, loss of ideas and confidence look, that would permeates to team. On field as well he lacks command and fight. Better for him and club so he can resurrect well where a team plays 3-4-3. In back 4 format he definitely will be caught out of speed and position.
