  1. I must have been watching a different match , I thought he did ok. The hinderance of sweeping up behind Mr. Potatoehead isn't going to help your debut quite frankly.

  2. We should not be even close to criticising the team or the manager after the first game, I’d even say the first half dozen games. It’s a new team and manager with some players being around less than a week. Add that we played a top 4 side is crazy. Was I disappointed, of course but the potential of this squad is enormous. Also it’s not Moyes.

  3. As a villa fan was good to see West Ham fans saying we’ve signed a World Cup winner etc then rogers running past him like he wasn’t even there

  4. Also you say villa hardly any new signings pretty much same team all know there roles from last season we had 1 new signing start you had 2 so both teams same as last reason so not really a excuse for him to play as bad as he did

  5. Another common sense analysis Holly of a player playing his first match in the PL. Appreciate he came with a big badge advertising his nationality and his countrymen’s biggest recent achievement, which he had a bit part in, and no doubt he will be a good player for WH.
We cannot expect after all the up evil with a new coach, players coming and going, new tactics, and a new mantra with this “project”, we cannot expect to hit the ground running on the first game. Crystal Palace will be a similar learning curve with hopefully a positive outcome, whereas MC at home will show the tactical ability of our coaching staff with a draw or win being a big positive for this season.

  6. Fornels took a few seasons to settle and was younger, more dynamic.
So there's certainly a call for some Li Liga players to take time to find their feet.
Guido is 29 and has spent most of his latter career in Li Liga, so time is essential as to whether he can fully adapt.
Well remembering he's also on a free.

  7. Anyone criticising him or the new manager after one game should stick to playing Fifa. Rodriguez had no support from Soucek or then JWP, who to me are the ones we should be moving on. JWP is only still being included because of the home grown quota, he is a passenger

  8. I keep hearing how slow Rodrigez is… not a notion that ever occured to me when I have watched him. He seems calm and knowledgable, I am glad to have him there and I think he'll become a valued member of the squad. I've generally started to ignore these people foaming at the mouth over how the season is over and Lop is finished etc… just negativity for its own sake.

  9. We all need to keep calm & be very patient. In any job 8 new starters on day one despite previous experience, will rarely be totally perfect. Lots of impatient fans need to give their heads a wobble. I don’t give a 💩 what Media outlets think! And you Holly are judging him after one game adding to the issue

  10. Don't understand the criticism, he was miles better than Soucek, infant spent his whole time covering for Soucek and was better than JWP when he came on, to be honest we capitulated when he went off ….was let down by those around him and Lopetegui's moronic "Moyesesque" tactics

  11. I think Rodders will turn out to be a very good signing for us. He has it in his locker and bearing in mind that once Edson Alverez is back, he'll shine. They’ve already played together in the past, which helps immensely.

  12. First game in a new much faster league, with minimal prep in a team that played crap as a whole with little support beside him. Yeah bit unfair!

  13. Deffo to early to judge, I fully expect Guido to improve and once he gets to know his teammates play better he'll gain a yard thru anticipation… Still think he's a class addition..!⚒️
