A lot of people who don't even watch Inoue seem to think he's just a hard puncher and nothing more. Truth be told, he's one of the most well-rounded and skilled boxers in the game right now.
Thank you for this video, it's great!
Just my two cents: Inoue’s defense is highly underrated, no one ever really focuses on it. It’s probably because he immediately puts pressure and offense as soon as he does something defensive. Other boxers tend to stay on defense and let it simmer for the audience and commentators to register what happened. Also Inoue’s defense can be really subtle at times. He blocks and parries punches but also disperses their impact by stepping and absorbing (his sparring footage is the best example of this). Not to mention footwork and positioning that makes it awkward for opponents to attack. One good example is, ironically, after Nery knocked Inoue down, for the rest of the round Nery did not land a single clean punch that wasn’t blocked, slipped, or countered. Inoue has insane reflexes but also a great understanding of his opponents options. There’s a bunch of times in the video where Inoue anticipates shots without looking and guards way before his opponent even throws. Honestly there’s so much that I could go on and on lmfao. Textbook definition of well rounded. Thanks for the video, great study material!
Inoue has the Ultra Instinct with his pull's.
