How good do you think Trent really is?
He’s quite easily the best RB in the world for me now, the only debatable ones are walker who was woeful for england, carvajal who’s ageing but still top, reece james when he’s fit or maybe hakimi but i don’t watch him enough. Offensively he’s undoubtedly the best then defensively he’s not the best but he’s not the worst, he’s at fault for a goal directly maybe 1 in 6/7 games but he contributes to a goal every 3 games meaning his ratio is 2:1 better than anyone’s in the world from right back
Plus he started of as a winger so for it to take him only 2-3years to turn to a rb shows how good he is
My guy, Trent has literally got better defensive numbers than Kyle Walker, more blocks, for example. The only things where Walker is better, is pace and physicality

I am a Scouser and go to the games but I wouldn't be sad if we sold Trent. He is flawed defensively and gets caught out time and again. James Milner was able to play out of position at LB for an entire season and was able to defend. Trent is so often caught a yard or two out of position and it costs us goals. He needs a Gini or Hendo covering him or he can't cope. No one doubts his crossing and passing range but unless he can somehow be worked into a midfield position I don't see where he fits. Bradley already looks a better all round RB. He's 4th choice RB for England when everyone is fit and didn't impress in midfield. IF we need to sell in order to buy he would be the one I would sacrifice.

Saw his preseason game.. the reason his debate is very simple. He got leg injury that nag him from sprinting back to his defending line. So as long as he do more long passes instead of running offensively the fan won't complain. But if the coach insist him to run forward, means that's coach responsibility right? We already know he's not a good runner anymore compared to his young age.
