The USMNT finished a very disappointing showing in Copa America by getting grouped. There are more questions than answers for the USMNT and things are looking very dark for the national team at the moment.

  1. Dont worry about the world cup too much , the quality has been lower since more teams are added to the competition , we went from 24 to 32 now to 48, ridicoulous.

  2. lmao Americans and american media really need to stop with that golden generation nonsense. A golden generation is a team that actually does something. You keep putting your team on a pedestal. That needs to stop

I wouldn't say just the bad performance against Panama, I would say the immature mistakes.

Tim Weah committed one of them immature mistakes.
Also in the defense in the same Match, and repeated in Uruguay Match, Central defender or the Goalie who don't clear the ball in situations where the opponent has an advantage.

So basically many of these immature mistakes, you can simplify talking about them in the defense. When the level of danger goes up so should your level of awareness.
Instead of clearing some of the balls that the opponent used to score on us, we kept those ball inside the area of danger in front of the opponent.

This maturity that the team should have, will not come from the players themselves in such short of time, it needs to come from the coach.

Another example when we score the go ahead goal against Panama, i noticed our players celebrating a bit too much (losing the concentration) then we gave the opponent easy goals that we should have avoided.

Bottom line, with our own mistakes we make the game more difficult on us, and easier on the opponent.
Bolivia that we beat 2-0, was beaten by Uruguay by 5-0, to understand this point.
So, if we really have a talented team, why did they fail in Copa America, IN AMERICA?

Where are they going to win, and in what century.
They coach we have, we needed to test him, and so we did.
If you continue to rely on them, he is NOT going to get you any better.

    That's it.

    Right 👍

    So the question then is:
Whether that happened due to Ref corruption or some other reason, where is the US Soccer Federation? Why aren't they being influential to get fairness to the USMNT?

If you organize the COPA America, in America, but you can't get fair refereeing, then you're not a strong Federation. The Team is limited by the inexperienced coach, the Refs call imaginary fouls against us, it's ridiculous.

Had our coach been a lot better, he would have known how to make something out of that unjust situation against Tyler Adams

  5. If Copa America was some small tournament that can be used to experiment, I would accept the failure under the guise that the team is setting up next opponent.

If we played Copa America abroad, I would say let this be a test and learn from.

But if you play a big tournament at home and you get ousted from group stage, that's it.
All the tests you need to know if you're going to succeed with Gregg, are it.

It shouldn't get bigger than Copa American or the Gold Cup (Copa America is higher ranking)
So, why would you want to sacrifice WC 2026 after you already saw the result of current test?

  6. 2 years are enough if you get a Good Proven Coach, to prepare for WC 2026.
He must be a Proven Coach, meaning someone who already has gotten Good Results in the World Cup or in an International Competition such as the Euro, Copa America or…

You need a coach with an international (National Team) Trophy or two.
Someone who knows international Soccer, but young with new proven ideas.

  7. "They play well but cant score." That is the story of Gregg Berhalter, he is mediocre at best. The way they go into games kinda show it all. He do3esnt know how to utilize the offensive side of the ball. He doesnt know how to adapt and adjust. He lacks any kinda inspiration of fandome. In fact, he has lost more games, confidence and fans. Hes gotten worse and the USSF is to blame.

  8. I don’t understand why people always blame the coach for everything. If you really know soccer, you people would agree that many of the players looked like shit. They walked all over the field they had no fire in them. In soccer 70% is the players responsibility and 30% the coach. Players should take some of the blame too!!!
