Lucas was wonderful, no doubt about it. But, there was no physicality in challenging him. and if you’re not gonna put the foot in on him, Lucas is going to have a grand old time. Still, it’s good to see him looking confident and happy.

I’m curious who the diva is going to be. Who is going to have the strop? Aguerd? I can see him stamping his feet in the corner. No club wanted to pay for him. He was/is reportedly unhappy for no apparent reason to outsiders, and he will be last choice CB. One of Mo and Summerville will have to sit unless JLo is a master of rotation. And I suspect that Alvarez may end up having a difficult time winning his job back. Guido is going to prove to be the class of this window. Antonio will definitely strop, but at least with him we know he gets stuck in to win his spot back.
As for the Czech boys, I’d still keep them. AWB needs a backup and Vlad will be better than most, and there will 100% be times when we need another target late in games on corners and free kicks. There’s no one better in than league than Soucek. He scores goals. You don’t dispose of that lightly. JWP on the other hand, good player, but to me he is the fish out of water for us now.

the link up play between Bowen, Pacman and Antonio was exquisite. Bowen's movement, control and finish were world class. I agree with other comments here that if we can sort out the defence/recovery runs etc when we lose posession we could be a real force to be reckoned with. To begin with we may ship a few goals but once this squad gels it could really go places. Give Lop some time to get them all working together and this could be very tasty.

Can’t agree about Aguerd. Yes his mistake lead to the goal but he had no outlet. None of the midfield dropped to take a pass. Saying that, he should have then just played long which he tried but too late.

I, like others, am very excited by the new team, but with one caveat: I think we should have pushed for Duran instead of Niclas Füllkrug, as our attack could be scintillating with a flare player like Duran. I hope I'm wrong.
