Crystal Palace continue to be decisive in the transfer market with the impending transfer news that Ismaila Sarr has completed a transfer from Marseille to Palace. Oliver Glasner needed a replacement for Michael Olise and this fits the bill pretty well, but what next for highly sought after Eberechi Eze who could be departing Selhurt park in this window if the transfer rumours are to be believed. In this video I look at the impact of Ismaila Sarr on the Palace team and where he fits into the Olise sized hole in the best XI.

  1. Ratchet up your notch deficits again, big man and believe in the OG version of Palace. Doucouré Wharton Lerma & Kamada appears a dream midfield combo while França Sarr Mateta Rak Sayki & Umeh offers tremendous potential as a strong attack force- add Eze in there somewhere if we can and boom!; our bench will be tremendously strong and teams will be rightfully fearful of 90mins against this OG Palace side.
Love your thoughts and your show formats

  2. Sarr will not be a starter. Sarr is a long term replacement for Ayew e.g. a squad player which we have needed for sometime.

  3. Couple of thoughts.

I think if Eze hadn't been dragged to warm the bench at the Euro's but still be in the limelight, we may have had a chance of keeping him. Add to this the fact that his release clause is so low (I mean Olise's £50+addons didn't stop anyone did it) means we're playing against him this season. Olise leaving was palatable because we won't have to play against him. . .. yet 😉

Guehi's £70m price tag and with FFP and only 2 years on his contract may see teams wait a season before grabbing him off of us cheaper.

The last game Franca played for us before he picked up an injury he looked absolutely top draw and I'm pretty sure he can play both left and right of attack.

The one player I'm really looking forward to seeing play is Wharton. At the end of the season he was sublime and I'm adamant that if England had played him over Rice who had a sheite tournament we would of won it.

  4. I don’t think eze is leaving I think Kamala will play on the right and I also think if eze went place would use the Olise and see money and spend big on someone

  5. Another good assessment if hiw thigs are going at Palace. I still think we need 3-4 players, even if we dont lose Ghuehi and Eze.

Our squad really lacks quality depth and cover in some important areas. We need an LB and an RB as cover/competition for Munoz and Mitchell (more so Mitchell as we do jave Clyne who could cover Munoz). I was hoping Tayo Adaramola would get a shot as LB cover but we've loaned him out to Stockport.

Sarr doesnt really excite me, but he is growing on me after reading some analysis and watching your video. We've needed some pace for a while now so at least he adds that. If he can find the form he had in that first season at Watford that will be just what we need. Is he a starter? I think he'll be used as an impact sub but may start some matches where OG really wants to go at teams early doors.

I think we'll need another CB if Ghuehi leaves as I dont think Holding and Ward are really up to being starters so, if we get a few injuries or suspensions back there we'd struggle. Also another option for the area behind JPM along with Kamada, Sarr, Eze. I know JRS is shown on your graphic, and I'd love him to get a chance, but theres alot of noise about him heading away. If he does go out on loan, or even sold to So'ton, then wed have to get someone else in. Having said that 3 goals in preseason so far must be making OG think about giving him a shot.

Lots of rumours abiut Eddy going, so we need to be looking at strikers just in case.

The squad, as it is, are off to the US now so i cant see to much transfer activity in the next couple of weeks but i know that there are 4-6 academy lads going along so that OG can run the rule over them. Franco Umeh is probably the one we have the biggest hope for but I'm glad OG is giving them a chance after the RH years where they never really got a shot.

All in all i reckon a striker, another attacking midfielder (in that role behind JPM) and 3 defenders (RB, LB and CD) and we'll be much stronger thanast season despite losing Olisé.

  6. Wonder if palace lose Mateta they’ll look into Moukoko from Dortmund who has now expressed he’s unhappy and wants to leave. Fabrizio tweeting about listening to offers from England
