I'm baffled by 4 things when it comes to Connor Gallagher:
1. How he got in the Chelsea side
2. How he gets in the England squad
3. Why Athletico Madrid want him
4. How much he gets spoken about on TalkSport
The guy is an average player at best, and for me represents the traditional breed of English midfielder, that is to say, not very technically gifted, but tries very hard. He's the type of player that's proven to be ineffective at international level for many decades, yet we still seem to continue to produce and laud as being something special. Declan Rice is another example, though I accept he is a better player than Gallagher.

Why is it nonsense that he wasn’t offered a new contract? According to reports he was offered both a new and an extension this summer. Yes in past it appeared they wanted to sell him but it appears now they would have kept him. You can say the club went about it badly but to say now none of it is in the player is very disingenuous.

I'm starting to think that Clearlake made Pochettino play Gallagher last season, and told Pochettino he would have to play Gallagher next season if the club couldn't sell him.

I think Gallagher is a very good player and him going are just rumours. I'm not even a Chelsea fan and I'd be happy to see him play for my club, but Chelsea are unlikely to sell him unless there is a crazy money bid for him, which is also u unlikely.
